nope, but honestly i don’t care. the design of the sidekick is boring enough and so basic that i’m just going to call it an glock. it’s not an sidearm that belongs in halo, design wise. in my oppinion
Or maybe we should question why we spawn with a disruptor AND a sidekick?
I feel like the disruptor is responsible for softening up opponents so the sidekick can clean up.
Just because you don’t like someone questioning an aspect of a game that you’re fine with doesn’t make it superficial. That’s what these forums are for. Feedback.
Both the AR and Pistol can beat each other with one outperforming the other depending on range. It’s been designed that way as the starting weapons so that’s not a great argument.
The fact you think 1 person is ruining the game because of a clear and concise discussion post is baffling.
That is so unbelievably stupid. It has NOTHING in common with a Glock, not even caliber! (Unless we’re talking a Glock 20.) Do you have any idea what the Sidekick IS similar to? It’s much closer to a SIG Sauer or FN product. You know what the old M6 series is close to?

Not clear enough? Here’s a low effort edit for you. The M6 series is structurally inspired by Walther’s pistols.

And you can do that to almost any pistol to make it look like one from Halo! What happens when you make the M6 series look like a normal pistol?

WOW, HUGE SURPRISE, IT JUST LOOKS LIKE AN AVERAGE GUN BUT UGLY.
Yeah, when I saw him say it looks like a glock, the FN series came to my mind first for the Sidekick, especially that early version. Good catch!
…Is it wrong that I still think that looks cool (albeit less Halo-y) stripped down like that? ![]()
Thanks!
Nah it’s very neato. But it shred’s the other person’s point.
I believe i used it properly… and again your just mad cause your only strategy is being questioned. If your were so bright you’d see that and that your making an utter fool out of yourself in the process…
They’re probably not going to nerf it as they intentionally made it so it was difficult to get kills on its own.
The bloom makes sure it can’t be fired at ranges farther than lower mid.
Not saying it does need a nerf, but the handful of cheaters I’ve played against - all use sidekick or commando for a reason.
I stopped playing LSS last week, by the end of the week, lots of people were using sidekick until they unlocked the commando.
That’s because the sidekick has a 100% accurate spray pattern. All they have to do is remove the bloom and it becomes a laser beam.
Which isn’t to say that it’s op, but the devs may not have accounted for bloom removing hacks.
It may have perfect accuracy for initial or paced shots. But it also has a very, very short range for Bullet Magnetism. Once you’re outside that range, if your shot isn’t perfectly on-target to the pixel, it will miss. And outside of bullet magnetism, any amount of Bloom is pure RNG. (Within the range limit, Bloom is actually superceded by the bullet magnetism, so you can spam away with no repercussion so long as the enemy is within the outer ring of the reticle)
This bullet magnetism mechanic is also present on M&K. It’s just hidden on PC because of the lack of a red reticle.
This is why the Sidekick is so deadly on M&K compared to controller at long ranges, but is easier to use on controller up close. When you’re outside of Bullet Magnetism range you also don’t get a sticky reticle. So controllers struggle to maintain a pixel-precise reticle on-target, something a mouse is much better for. But up close with the movement as fast as it is it becomes harder for M&K users to keep up with it, making their shots more likely to miss, where controllers can take advantage of the two aim assist mechanics fully to land their shots.
Which is why hackers simply use aim hacks to help with that.
I probably should’ve brought up the aim hacks. My point is that’s probably the reason why hackers use the sidekick so much.
okay look, you got me with the fact that it looks nothing like an actual glock. i’l submit to that fact, ya got me there
but all i’m saying is that the sidekick looks generic. but as you said;
you can do that, yes. but the difference between the original magnum and the sidekick is… the magnum feels like an fictional, halo gun. because of how it looks. it’s not an regular looking side arm, like the sidekick, because bungie added those details that make it stand out. the iron sites that aren’t of any use, the chunky front with the small back, the handle guard, the way the spartan holds it. it feels unique enough to not feel like an run of the mill, average side arm.
the sidekick has non of the flare that makes it stand out quite like the magnum. no odd proportions, no finger guard infront of the handle, nothin. just an run of the mill side arm. it’s just an average looking gun, as you said. it’s the magnum without any personality to it
they could’ve put effort into making it feel like an actual halo gun, giving it needed flare. i mean, why not? clearly it was important enough to them to make an entirely new gun instead of updating an pre-existing gun. but no, they just half baked it. made it lacking in any form of personality…
“real spartans use a controller”
at this point. you’re just sad.
you couldn’t refute any of my points. even when i heralded the AR as more reliable than the sidekick.
and i use a series x…
i know. it’s just that people like him… i just don’t understand why they keep spreading falshoods for the sake of their own comfort and ego.
just speak within reality and we can get to real solutions. not exaggerated lies that would lead to more problems.
it’s the mangler nerf all over again and yet people still don’t learn from their mistakes.
Not gonna lie, the sidekick does look a little far from what a halo pistol would typically look like. To be fair though, the one human pistols we’ve seen in game are magnums.
My not addressing any of your points because your a total screw ball that doesnt like opposing opinions of your beloved strategy. You walked into this forum with the most ball twisting wedgie that I’ve ever seen. You could of walked in with an open mind and we could of had a conversation, but instead we all got to witness a total break down of “youre ruining the game” “you’re opinion isnt mine” “you’re and idiot”. Your pathetic in your own right and we all had to witness how pathetic you are.
“Omg these people dont know what their talking about cant you see that the people that think this way are wrong and the only opinion to have is the one that i have and no one can take that away from me, oh no”

Sidekick is only bad on mouse. I’m a MnK player and I usually lose 1v1 duels with the Sidekick because the bullets fly in random directions due to the bloom. I decided to try it on a controller and I was destroying people with the Sidekick without breaking a sweat. It’s almost as if the aim assist and bullet magnetism cancel out the bloom. The Sidekick is also one of the weapons most affected by desync.
