MK50 Bloom is Too Much

Really think the MK50 pistol bloom needs to be turned down or damage increased. The amount of hitmarkers I get on a one-shot enemy when I am aiming at the head is crazy.

For this game to be competitive, either BR starts will be required or the MK50 bloom needs to be adjusted. There is nothing competitive about bloom.

Its not a magnum.

I thought that the semi automatic nature of the weapon seems about right. I just basically whittle down the shields with the AR, swap out quick to the magnum and pace my headshots and its surprising how quickly you delete targets.

I agree with the bloom problem. Bloom is an inherently non-competitive mechanic. I don’t agree with upping it’s damage. It has a .6 optimal TTK, the same as the CE Magnum. I think increasing it’s vertical recoil with spraying is the way to balance it. Pacing shots keeps the weapon stable, but it’ll climb in a predictable pattern if you spray it too quickly. If you can overcome the recoil and learn to master it, you’ll be lethal with the sidekick up close and a little further out

Hence the name SIDEkick. It’s a sidearm useful for getting those headshots after hammering the shields with a more capable or damaging weapon (that isn’t a headshot capable weapon itself) or if you ran out of ammo. Or in the bots case: Laser the living hell out of everyone by having all 4 shoot at the same head.

Like Modod said, it’s not a magnum. It’s intended to be a sidearm secondary weapon hence the name. If you’re looking for a decent mid to long range precision weapon, look for a BR75 or a Commando. I will say I have noticed the bloom is a little extreme for that weapon at times, but it’s also not intended for long range engagements

TBH I’m pretty happy where it at right now, and I don’t see why bloom is a bad thing, if anything it raises the skill ceiling.

The weapon is not made to be a primary weapon, it’s a backup pistol with a short unholster and reload time for when your primary is out of ammo.
The bloom makes it so that it can be used effectively to defend yourself at short range while also not being overpowered at long ranges, you can clean up unshieled enemies at long ranges, but an enemy requiring multiple shots will be very hard to deal with as you have to lower you rpm to compensate for the bloom.
If it didn’t have bloom or had higher damage then it would overshadow other precision weapons just like the pistol did in H5 and that’s not what we want.

It’s happened plenty of times where I ran out of BR or AR ammo just as I broke the shield so a quick swap to the sidekick and one tap headshot did the job.

This guy thinks bloom raises skill ceiling obviously dumb troll lmao XD
