Is the armor Spartans use stronger than that of the elites?
Also how would a spartan 4 compare to a spartan 2?
Spartan 3?

Elites wear “combat harnesses”, Idon’t beleive they augment their physical abilities much, if at all. Mjolnir basically allows spartans to be three times stronger, plus it can help inject biofoam if the wearer is injured, so I believe it is better.
I don’t know if elites are stronger then spartans… but I don’t believe that they are
and for the spartans program has I posted in another topic:
SPARTAN-II
Only a few months after augmentation procedures the SPARTAN-IIs were noted of being capable of running at speeds exceeding 55 km/h or 34.2 mph. Kelly-087 was capable of running even faster than this speed. Later during the Human-Covenant war while in her Mark V MJOLNIR Armor, Kelly-087s the top speed recorded was 62 km/h or 38.5 mph[8] John-117 has been noted to have briefly ran at around 105 km/h or 65.2 mph during a MJOLNIR MARK V training exercise, however his Achilles tendon was torn because the strain put on his body was unsustainable.
The SPARTAN-IIs are capable of lifting three times their body weight, which is double the normal weight of an average human due to the ceramic bone augmentations, in addition to their increased muscle density. Fred-104 is noted for using his enhanced strength combined with his skills to kill a Brute with his bare hands during Operation: First Strike. Cal-141 was capable of blocking a Jiralhanae Chieftain’s Gravity Hammer swing with a single hand, dodging multiple swings from the Chieftain, use her enhanced muscle strength to jump to great heights, and wound the Chieftain with a few punches and kicks. During the events of Halo: The Flood, John-117 was able to use his enhanced strength to kill Covenant Elite’s with skull breaking punches. During the events on planet Onyx, Will-043 used his enhanced strength to engage a Hunter pair in hand to hand combat, and succeeded in killing one by ripping the worms out of its body. In the same battle, Kelly-087 engaged three Sangheili Major/Spec-Ops Elite’s in hand to hand combat, snapping the wrist of one Elite, taking his energy sword, and cutting three Elite’s in half with a single swing.
A SPARTAN-II’s reaction time while impossible to chart accurately is estimated to be twenty milliseconds, their reaction times are significantly faster in combat situations or with A.I. assistance. The reaction times of the SPARTAN-IIs are so fast that they are able to think, react and see things happen in slow and fast motion - it is dubbed as “SPARTAN Time” by Kelly-087. SPARTAN-IIs are also known for their sharp eyesight being able to virtually see in the dark.
The thirty-three SPARTAN-IIs that are able to accomplish all this are without any serious physiological or mental instabilities.
Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez states after the augmentations that the SPARTANs will only get better as they adjust to the augmentation. Therefore many of the SPARTANs attributes have increased through time. These abilities were completely independent of the MJOLNIR armor, which only further augmented the SPARTANs’ unprecedented capabilities. Despite the impressive feats the surviving SPARTANs performed many of the fourteen year old candidates died or “washed out” as a result of the augmentations. Rather than be buried or cremated their bodies were cryogenically preserved with the hopes of one day reviving these candidates. Experimental rehabilitation programs were performed on more than 80% of the washouts. The result of these programs, however, has yet to be determined. The augmentation procedures performed on the SPARTAN-IIs paved the way for Project CHRYSANTHEMUM and thus to the “disposable” Spartan-III’s.
SPARTAN-III
Project: CHRYSANTHEMUM [SPARTAN-III] is a set of SPARTAN-III bio-augmentation procedures, similar to those of the SPARTAN-II’s. With advances in technology, however, the casualty rate for SPARTAN-III candidates was usually 0%, as opposed to the 56% casualty rate of the SPARTAN-IIs.
SPARTAN-IV
The SPARTAN-IV Program is the fourth generation of the SPARTAN Program. It consists of members recruited from the UNSC’s military who were augmented to be capable of wearing a variant of the MJOLNIR GEN2 armor. This phase was initiated by Admiral Margaret Parangosky after the Human-Covenant War, and some are stationed near the UNSC Infinity in the Oort Cloud.
Similar to the original ORION Project, the SPARTAN-IV Program would only consist of adult volunteers, as opposed to young children (despite their stellar operational record in previous generations of the program). When the program was started, surviving members of previous generations were offered an opportunity to be integrated into it, though it remains unknown how many accepted or declined. The first active SPARTAN-IVs were already deployed as early as 2553 as some of them were temporarily assigned to the UNSC Infinity before it was scheduled to launch.
from Halo Nation wiki
Elites have a Combat harness that does not affect their physical capabilities at all, they are just naturally as strong as a spartan 2 in Mjolnir armor. as for the spartans the II’s are the strongest but cost the most, the III’s were cheap and made for suicide missions, and the IV’s are only slightly better then your average human, their Mjolnir Gen 2 is actually toned down for their use, if they were using the chief armor their bones would likely snap.
Sum up time:
Spartan II: Tallest, strongest and best trained.
Spartan III: tallish, Strong and well trained.
Spartan IV: The best of normal military personal with slight augmentation and fancy armor.
Edit: fun fact Elites have four sets of pectorial muscles.

Well, it depends on which Spartan-IIIs you’re talking about. Aren’t Jun and John around the same height without their armor on?
I prefer to think of the Spartan-IIIs as more of a mixed bag, considering their not as restrictive genetic requirements. I believe that on average, the Spartan-IIIs were outclassed by the S-IIs, but that’s not to say that there weren’t a few IIIs (Spartan-B312 and Jun) that could give any Spartan-II a run for their money.
Elite Armour is like Marine armour for Covies but obviously more advanced than Human marine armour.
Also Spartan 2’s are like Gods, Spartan 3’s like Demi-Gods and Spartan 4’s like a Demi-god but not as good as a Spartan 3 Demi-God.
Reading all this got me so frikkin’ pumped to see The gratest Spartan in action again… John-117.

i was thinking the same, there are no confirmed stats of the strength and ability of the spartan 4 compared to the 3’s and 2’s. from what little we have, the SIV’s sound like a mix of both siii and sii minus the childhood combat training of the SII.

EDIT: better picture for comparison
Also it said in a previous Vidoc that the Mjolnir Gen 2 was designed to be more agile and lightweight for the spartan IV’s.
Edit:The Master Chief stands about seven feet (2.13 m) tall and weighs 1,000 pounds (450 kg) in armor;[17] without it, he stands six feet, seven inches (2 m) tall and weighs 287 pounds (130 kg)

6 foot 7 inches with armor on, what are you on man? John is 6 foot 10 inches without armor on :O…
He is 6 foot 7" without armor
7 foot 2" with armor.

There seems to be a general hate towards the Spartan IV’s because people love the 2’s so much… I hope there are some campaign and Spartan Ops moments that will change that.
I am actually quite exited to make my own spartan IV, i think they are amazing, it’s just common knowledge that each spartan program gets cheaper and easier to manufacture. One set of mjolnir armor Mark V Costs as much as a halcyon class cruiser.

Wait, how’s inflation in the future?
I have no clue O_O
But since we’re getting into the topic of money… i wonder how much gas costs in the future…
Ok, well here goes,
Spartan Mjolnir Mark VI Armor is much better, stronger, than any Armor the Covenant have it has vastly improved Shielding, much more durable plating, design.
Mjolnir Mark V is around the same level as the Elite Zealots Combat Harness, with the Zealots Armor System having slightly stronger shields.
So any current Mjolnir Armor System is stronger than anything a Elite of any type wears.
John is 6’10 without armor, he weighs 290lbs, he can lift about 3 times his own weight with ease. He is 7’2 in Mjolnir, and weighs around 900lbs with it on, he can lift about 6 times his own weight with Mjolnir on due to its abilities to enhance the wearers muscle strength, power in general.
Spartan IV’s have more humane, and adapted augmentations, likely mostly of a chemical nature, similar to the Spartan III Program and its augmentations. They are made up of already experienced and hardened soldiers, ODST’s, Marines, and even Spartan II’s and III’s that have been asked to come into the program themselves.
Spartan IV’s are likely more efficient augmentation wise than the Spartan III’s, due to advancements in technology, and research into what makes a Spartan truly tick.
Most likely not as powerful and definately not as imposing as the more experienced, powerful, taller, Spartan II’s such as John or Fred, due to their augmentations being more of a chemical natural I would say instead of full fledged surgical bone grafting and re engineering in general of the individuals body.

You were thinking of Kelly
I believe she is a little smaller, around 6’10 in Mjolnir, the rabbit!
What is this money you speak of?
You’re very well informed, but in the fall or reach and The flood books it states John is Six foot Seven? I don’t understand where the ten is coming from?
During a briefing scene in Halo: The Flood, the Chief is described as tall with short hair, serious eyes, and strong features. His skin is “too white”, a consequence of spending most of his time in his armor.[15] The Master Chief stands about seven feet (2.13 m) tall and weighs 1,000 pounds (450 kg) in armor;[17] without it, he stands six feet, seven inches (2 m) tall and weighs 287 pounds (130 kg)
