MJOLNIR Armor - Shoulders

No, not the pauldrons.

So in an issue of GameInformer (or perhaps it was a video outlining changes to the MJOLNIR Mark VI armor,) it was mentioned that the “double triangle” areas above the shoulders (facing forward) have an unknown purpose.

Is it just me, or did others think that those were speakers to project the Spartan’s voice publicly?

Picture for clarification.

Probably an oxigen intake.

That would be the vents on the helmet though, wouldn’t it? Direct intake to the respiratory organs (mouth/nose)?

Chemical thingy scanner.

Does MJOLNIR feature that, though? lol

In the e3 2011 trailer for Halo 4 they act as a thrusterpack, that’s my geuss.

The very back of that section acts as a thrusterpack, aye. But the whole thing can’t be them, can it?

Probably vents out the thrusterpack? Like a mini turbine or something? I really don’t know haha.

Lol, maybe I am the only one who thought they were speakers.

Ah well

Just imagine chief pumping some music through them haha.

Not so hard to imagine, it’s what I do at every Halo release in my custom MJOLNIR outfit! LOL

MJOLNIR armor is powered by miniature fusion reactors on the back. I always thought these were intakes for a cooling fan.

What they were originally is unknown but recently they have become Thrusters. This is demonstrated by the fact that when using the Thruster Pack in Halo 4, the thruster effect is always shown coming out of those things on their backs. Since the Mark VI chest/torso is available to use it will mean that the thruster effect will come out of those as well.

Probably intakes for the Thruster Pack or Microfusion cells.

On the original Mk. VI, they are the fusion power pack that powers Mjolnir.

> On the original Mk. VI, they are the fusion power pack that powers Mjolnir.

That was an assumption. I have never found a canon source which ever pointed to them and said what they were.

The fusion power cell for Mjolnir has always been located on the back. There is yet to be a canon source that disputes this, though Halo 4 should put this debate to rest depending on how it functions in multiplayer with the thruster pack.
