I wasn’t sure where to post this, but I was invited to flight four of the Windows Store version of the Master Chief Collection; unfortunately, I have the steam version. Was there a preference setting that I missed? I connected my steam account to the Insider Program a while before the flight came out.

Connecting your Steam account just means you might get an invitation for the Steam version, it doesn’t guarantee it.
They want to test both the MS Store and Steam versions so which one you get is largely a dice roll.
The version you own doesn’t always match your flight and linking your steam account doesn’t guarantee a steam flight. You can enter flights without owning the game at all
