Mixed feelings after campaign. Unsure how i feel.

Okay so I have been a huge halo fan since Halo 1. I am 26 and have been there since LAN days. I love online multiplayer and playing through the Campaign. I don’t play on legendary because its too hard. I have played all the games on easy and have watched all the alternate endings for legendary. But really 343? With Halo 5 I was so pumped to play. I played it in two days and got through all 15 missions. Just finished the game today (Saturday). Started last night at 9pm. It took around 7 hours of gameplay time for me to complete the game. Anyways here are more of my thoughts after you read my background.

I was super excited throughout most of the game and thought they did a good job at exploring more of the universe. Playing as Locke and his team didn’t bother me. I do understand why Master Chief was only in 3 missions and why they needed to do it that way. I am sure that Master Chief will be in more missions in Halo 6 (if it gets made at all). They explained more of what happened after the destruction of the Didacts ship which was good. I really enjoyed the fact that we saw some of blue team, but I felt they needed to dive more into their back story. I don’t read the Halo books so I had no idea who blue team was and just read rumors/speculations on the forums.

The controls and gameplay were solid through out the game, however the boss battles were ridiculous. No variety what so ever and I kept thinking they were going to switch it up. I am also confused at why the flood weren’t around. I get that we destroyed most of them in Halo 3, but there should be more lurking about. The ending was a let down completely. After all the hard work, that’s all I get? Really? I am not trying to jump on the band wagon of hate for this game. I actually did complete the game and enjoyed most of the storyline. Seeing most of the characters from the past games gave me goosebumps and I was excited. However, overall I would give it a 7/10 for a campaign experience. I don’t think its worth the $60 I spend on it. I should have waited for it to price drop, but we are really paying for the multiplayer experience. Am I right people? I rate multiplayer a 10/10 since it has gotten way better! I really like what they did with the multiplayer and they made it more challenging. Just got to be careful of the micro-transactions, but micro-transactions are the future of gaming.

I hope Halo 6 is better because this campaign left a lot of loose ends/dissapointment for the ending. I don’t know if they will even make Halo 6 considering how badly halo 5 has been reviewed. At least it only left a semi-sour taste in my mouth after playing it.
