Mistake found in campaign

I don’t know if this has been caught by anyone else (a search came back with nothing,) however I found a small technically error on ONI Sword Base that could possibly be fixed with a title update. When you get to the Atrium of Sword Base (where the multiplayer map is,) you’re given a little tooltip about your fireteam. However the tooltip says “You may now recruit Marines into your fireteam.” This is, of course, inaccurate, as there are few - if any - Marines in Halo Reach.

The Marines are the soliders, the soldiers are the Marines.

They are the same thing, there is no need to force players to redownload the .map file on ONI Sword Base for such a little ‘mistake’.

I don’t think that’s a mistake at all, try not to pay so close attention to detail.

Yeah, it’s a typo but IMO there are more problems with the actual feature itself.

I guess Bungie worked on a squad system to command your allies…The first hint to that was one of the earlier screenshots (the Alpha screens with the yellow HUD). People noticed some pixelated things right next to the radar which are now, as we all know, the names of marines following you.

But Bungie scrapped that feature.

a) in the tooltip it says that you can press up (or down) on the D-Pad to recruit marines. It’s pointless because the Marines will automatically join your “party”

b) even if you would press the D-Pad in front of some marines > nothing will happen. Let your original squad die and then find some other guys and try to recruit them. They won’t join your squad or follow you.

c) the marines who actually join your squad are hard scripted

> The Marines are the soliders, the soldiers are the Marines.

…No. Marines and Soldiers are so not the same thing.

> The Marines are the soliders, the soldiers are the Marines.

No, not really. Yes, the Marines are soldiers, but these soldiers are not Marines, they are Army. We wouldn’t have to “redownload” the map, it could be included in a title update that fixes this small error.

And Galaxy, I didn’t see anything for the d-pad function, though that would have been cool. Was that a pre-release feature later scrapped?

Two things.

Who cares about the squad feature? Your soldier buddies suck anyway and die in two shots.

That being said, it doesn’t matter if they are marines or troopers…they suck. Lol.

There’s never been a topic, far as I know, but it’s been discussed before. It’s possibly an oversight, but also may have been a choice by Bungie due to almost 10 years of fighting along side Marines.

Another possibility is that those were Marines fighting the Covenant.

> The Marines are the soliders, the soldiers are the Marines.
> .

All marines are soldiers.
Not all soldiers are marines.
