Mission Replay

One of the best things about the halo games for me is the ability to go back and replay any mission/level, its especially fun in co op going back with a friend and selecting your favourite missions to replay but im curious to know with halo infinite being “semi open world” will we still have the ability to go back and use mission/level select?!.. im assuming it might be like metro exodus and the story is in stages where you progress when you unlock a new section in the open world thats classed as a mission and able to replay from each area unlock point on the main menu?!..

Halo Infinite still has traditional levels, it’s not all just open world chaos. Devs had confirmed a while back that traditional levels still exist and you can replay them as normal.

Think of Zeta Halo as a open play space where you can travel around and explore.
Actual in game missions will have actual scripted areas and such.

i hope that’s still how it’ll be on launch.

Think of each FOB as a rally point in the old campaigns you spawn there and can replay story sections id imagine with the added replay factor of dynamic loadout/vehicle spawns and enemies loadouts changing to counter your ordinance drops.

Thats with the addition of the standard missions you can replay like before. Linear levels are still in the game.

Really hope it’s dynamic in the future or even on launch. If they are going to have this huge canvas they need to have some PVE mode with that canvas lol

I believe specific missions to replay will still be a thing. But they will all take place on in this same open world and inside structures that can only be accessed in those missions. The way I’ve interpreted it is that the whole game will be one massive “Silent Cartographer CE” mission.
But I do not think we will get much traditional linear-ish missions in this game. Meaning I do not think this is a “hub” world like in ODST.

Something I’m worried about is if the missions will feel samey, repetitive and just not have great replayability.
I have clear reasons to choose to replay TaR instead of SC in CE or the other way around. But in Infinite I can request vehicles I want for the missions, abilities aren’t pickups unique to missions instead you always have them, and there is just 1 biome. Why would I chose to replay some missions over others?

There’s definitely going to be stiff within Zeta Halo to do, it’s not just a blank canvas haha.

My understanding is that Zeta Halo is going to have random encounters, bases and other activities to do aswell as the main story missions on top of all of that.

i just want the game to be fun to play, which i reckon most halo players want.

There’s a difference between fun with some repetition and boring because of too much repetition.

if it’s just clear bases with the same bases dotted about then it’s going to be ripped to shreds by reviewers and critics.

hopefully because of what little we have seen of the campaign means it’s holding some good stuff and not a load of repeated stuff.

one hopes the infinite in the title does not mean infinite repetitiveness of base clearing. “but you can clear them with vehicles too!”

so much riding on this game to not suck.

I hope your right as this was my concern when they announced a more open world style for infinite cause im one of these people who is getting abit sick of huge open world games where it just feels like there all the same and full of the same repetitive style gameplay such as clear out all tese camps, go to this location to scan the area and unfog the map amd reveal points of interest also co collect a million scattered collectables just so we can keep ypu playing our game longer while griding your way through it and clearing up the oversized map! Ive told myself im done with ubisoft games such as assassins creeds and farcrys now due to this! I just pray halo doesnt start to go down that same root like those ubisoft games!
