Mission/Level Variety

For Halo 5 Guardians, I would like to see some more variety in the missions and what your doing in these missions. Maybe have levels where you are travelling in space (not in space crafts but actually floating in space), or having battles on or underwater, or getting lost in an jungle/forest and having to find your way out (without objective markers please). But I honestly don’t want to see escort or defend missions or at least minimize them. One more thing but off topic, bring back friendly AI in some form and make them more useful than they were in Halo 4.

So that’s all I can think of. What kind of awesome mission or level ideas do you have?

I’m kind of afraid to post. A certain argumentative person may come and try to spread BS about Halo 5 featuring master chief traveling from planet to planet like freakin Samus Aran.

Why should that bother you? It’s just their opinion… OT: I’m begging for less linear levels. Halo 4’s were unacceptably so.

Yeah, I’d love some openness. Maybe there could even be sections like Halo 3:ODST where Locke roams the city, then can leave it to go on a mission, or it switches to whatever Master Chief is up to. Probably not, but not too far-fetched.

These are some crazy things I’ve been piling up for a little. Campaign ideas More options to add to the sandbox style .

Hidden pathways that can add to the replay value.

More Game changing things that can add more enemies if you’re a rookie, and have less knowledge of the campaign.
<div>Or things that can benefit you if you know what you’re doing.

Examples

A secret. Taking cover as a ship flys by will actually avoid that wave.

In a city environment, if you damage or shoot specific cars you can set a alarm off, sending extra enemies to your location

Some environment or species can attack you if you get close.
And maybe bringing more species will make the

game and environment feel more believable.
Stepping in a weird alien slim or muddy area can slow you down, or walking in sand.

Vehicles traction should change in different weather conditions, like in classic Halo’s.

A small sand storm can block vision to allow you to gain ground on your enemies.

Changing weather like clouds, lighting, rain, snow, sand storm.

Blowing up a phantom can stop a wave, or can send parts crashing down on your enemy, killing and or injuring some.

campaign1 . optional Stealth mission with foliage and tall grass to crouch in, and some hidden silenced weapon(sniper, pistol or br) found near a dead soldier or two. watch out for foot patrols, take out sleeping grunts, take cover as a ship flys above you. and take out snipers before they spot you if you’re seen or fail to kill a enemy they will alert everyone, and you will just have to finish everyone off as they are aware of your presence now.

  1. Having a wait option on some missions you can press start and click wait choose a time, and play the mission in a darker, settings. Makes the enemies have a harder time to see you. So you can play the mission differently. Use a flashlight or for Stealth use your night vision.

Sorry this is a mess, and I have taken some ideas from other game’s

Now those are some cool Ideas. I’ve always wanted dynamic weather and night and day cycles.

I just felt halo needs some new stuff in the campaign’s, to make them fun again. And have some more replay value.

I seriously want Halo to have firefight or some other co-op mode with replay value. I’m not a huge fan of cod, but I will admit that Zombies and survival modes add that one last layer for people who have played the campaign enough times to make it dull, and are just not in the mood for competitive play in multiplayer.

I would like it to be open, but not full on CE-level open. I feel like Halo 3 had down to pat for me. I still wouldn’t mind an ODST-level openness though. As long as I have a means to navigate, like the city map, or frequent Waypoints,

That’s what I was thinking about the city in Halo 5. It’d be cool of Locke just kind of wandered the city in-between missions, and ran off into the outskirts when you want to do an actual mission.

Could be possible considering locke has a compass on his hud, like in ODST.

After seeing both of the Master Chief and Locke ads, the possibility of playing a certain character going down a certain path shouldn’t be left out (Albeit I wouldn’t hold my breath.), but I would just love to see in general more levels, something akin to Halo 2 lengths, Halo 4 was pathetically short and was NOT satisfying for parts of the game, but I would love to see Halo 5 have more than 8 or 9 levels, and not see two of the levels be prologues or epilogues.

I am excited to see the thought of any potential boss fights since the very first trailer we saw was Master Chief looking up to that War Sphinx or whatever Forerunner machine it is. The thoughts of having an awesome clash between new threats to the galaxy or to our hero would be absolutely awesome, especially after that big tease at the end of Halo 4 with the QTE (I won’t ever forget that horrible QTE and I refuse to call that a fight in anyway.).

Heh, SedentaryTube0 always has some good ideas in this regard. I see that they’ve already been.

Halo CE: Pillar of Autumn [Space mission], followed by landing on Installation 04, and repeatedly boarding the Truth and Reconciliation.
Halo 2: Cario Station [Space mission], followed by Battle of New Mombassa, followed by Battle of Installation 05.
Halo 3: Earth, followed by Battle of Installation 00, followed by Battle of Installation 04B.
Halo Wars: Battle of Harvest, followed by Battle of Arcadia, followed by Battle of Shield Installation 459.
Halo Spartan Assault: Draetheus V and X50.
Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, Requiem, Ivanoff Station [Installation 03], The Mantle’s Approach [Earth].

The Halo series typically switches between ship-based missions, groundside missions, and installation-based missions. Stating that the Master Chief is going to be travelling from one planet to another is…really not that new or particularly interesting, when considering the majority of the previous games in the Halo series.

As to mission/level variety? The more types of vehicles and ways of getting from A to B that you can think of, the happier I’ll be–and I suspect, the more diverse the maps will be, too.

I think there should be a dedicated stealth mechanic of some kind. Missions where you pass unseen with silenced weapons would be good, especially if there was wildlife you could provoke.
