When I try to launch the game I get an error saying the titled file is missing… Any ideas for a fix? Been trying to figure this out for like a month or two now
Is this on Steam? Can you try to verify game files using Steam? Verify Integrity of Game Files - How To’s - Knowledge Base - Steam Support (steampowered.com)

Thanks for the reply! This is a problem I have encountered with the Steam version yes. I have tried this as well as reinstalling MCC with no luck solving the problem, Steam doesn’t seem to find any problem with the files.

After a while of testing and attempting this solution I am unfortunately here to say that this solution has been unable to solve my problem… Thank you for the second attempt here!

Where should the file be installed to? The windows system32 folder or into the game folder? I’ve tried putting it into the game folder but I get a new error saying that the dll file is “untrusted”
Hey, I would put it in sys32 and the game dir.
If its untrusted - I am not 100% sure but try right-clicking it and see if there is an option called ‘unblock’ or something like that?

I’m not seeing any option to “unblock” or make the file trusted, it’s an error that’s coming from trying to start the game; not from my computer or antivirus file. This is so frustrating ahahah

This is what I see when I right-click the file (Windows 7)

Open the ‘Halo - The Master Chief Collection’ folder and make a shortcut to ‘mcclauncher.exe’. Use that to start the game.
HEYYY I don’t know if you managed to solve this problem, but I had it know and I managed to solve it by the moment. Just go to sys32 go to the 2_9 file, copy it and paste it in the same folder, then change the name of it to the one you are missing. If you look carefully you may already have the 2_9 file, but the one that the game is requesting has “Redist” at the end. so put that at the end of the file. Name it just as the one the error send you and you should be ready to go. I hope you manage to enjoy it!

Thanks!
I fixed this by going into NVIDIA Control Panel>Adjust Desktop Size And Position>Scaling and changing it to No Scaling.
I have no idea why this works, but it did.

that worked for me thanks
Copy x9_2redist.dll from Main Folder of Installed Game its the 2nd last file and Paste it to the following
MCC/Binaries/Win64
You are good to go.
its easy, download the file here
https://www.dll-files.com/xaudio2_9redist.dll.html
then you have to put it in the mcc/binaries/win64 folder then all set
add the dll file in your system32 folder … worked for me
