Missing ODSTs in Halo 4

I just noticed, that ODSTs are completely missing in Halo 4. What happened to them? Where they replaced by Spartan-IVs?

When I thought about this, I think, ODSTs should be still there, especially on the Infinity. The Infinity holds a lot of Infantry, lots of Spartan-IVs, and the rest probably only Marines, so I think ODSTs would fit as pople between Marines and Spartan-IVs.

So, what do you think about them? Do you want them back in Halo 5?

343’s new art designs have rendered them invisible.

Or…most of the, volunteered to be spartan IVs or simply they weren’t involved in the storyline.

Yeah I want them back. They’ve been a part of Halo for a long time and were Missing in Halo 4 without an explanation as to why.

Halo 3: ODST really made me fall in love with these guys.

I wish 343 could have at least implemented some ODST Armour in Halo 4.

I love ODSTs and I hope they bring them back in Halo 5

LMAO x’D If they really were, they would be the perfect branch for stealth missions.

I thought about this too. They would be good candidates, since they are physically fit for everything, and have possibly a lot of experience.

Also, Commander Sarah Palmer WAS a ODST before she volunteered into the Spartan-IV Program, so your theory could be correct.

Me too. I personally think, without them, there is really missing something in Halo. I was interested in them since Halo 2 Cutscene before the level Halo Delta, and I am a huge fan of them (want to make me a tattoo of them).

But, as mentioned in the Spoiler above, Commander Sarah Palmer was an ODST before, and thats a possible explanation, why they are not in Halo 4.I really want to know from 343 Industries why the ODSTs are missing in Halo 4. Maybe they will tell us, it would be great.

Also, I tried to create my Sparan-IV after the ODST^^

Yeah, I’ve noticed the Recruit Helmet looks pretty similar to the ODST one. It’s just not as attractive imo.

Most probably became Spartan-IVs, but I’d still like to see kick -Yoink- humans who don’t need power armor and inflated egos to be kick -Yoink- to begin with.

I could’ve sworn there were some on Composer with their visors deactivated.

IMO the Air Assault helmet looks like ODST, especially from the side.
And In the Campaign, on Shutdown, I stared at a Spartan to here what he said, and he mentioned ā€œā€¦we fought together in >Can’t remember what year he said<, I was just an ODST then.ā€ Perhaps most of the ODSTs became S-IV’s? And I know 343 didn’t completely forget them, they were in FUD.

Yeah, somethings missing in comparison to the real ODST helmet.

One of the things I liked the most about ODST :)But some had great egos too

WHAT? Impossible. When and where? Look again please.

I think anyone who crams themselves inside a small pod and drops down onto enemy occupied planets deserve to have great egos. However, once you get fancy power armor and augmentations, humble yourself.

I miss good ole’ ODST troopers… I wanna know if Buck possibly became a spartan IV.

Okay, you really got a point. To go even further, they are dropped out of ORBIT, they got to endure extremely hot temperatures inside there (if the heat shield dies), and pretty much risk their own life every time, every place. Not to mention that they are dropped into enemy territory without fancy big guns and sparkling Power Armor.
They got balls of steel. And they really deserve respect, at least as much as the Spartan-II.

> I miss good ole’ ODST troopers… I wanna know if Buck possibly became a spartan IV.

Good question… but I think, he’s too cool to become one of many. And I think, he holds a grudge against Spartans. Remember hin in Halo: Reach Mission New Alexandria? ā€˜ā€˜See you in hell?’’ (I’m not sure if he said that in English, but he does in the german version).

Most likely became Spartan IVs. ODSTs were the badasses of the badasses, if they were any better they’d be considered a Spartan…like Buck.

How morons like Palmer, Hoya and Miller became Spartans makes me think they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

But they were so special, they don’t need to become Spartans imo :frowning:
I really want a answer now from 343 Industries…

> How morons like Palmer, Hoya and Miller became Spartans makes me think they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

Who is Hoya?
Also, was Miller stated as an ODST before his volunteering into Spartan-IV?

> Who is Hoya?
> Also, was Miller stated as an ODST before his volunteering into Spartan-IV?

He was the black guy with the shotgun on Fireteam Majestic who stupidly ran head first into the thick of Promethean forces in the second episode’s cutscene.

I agree that 343 should add more odsts in Spartan ops and halo 5 campaign. also they should make halo 4 ODST. lol I would love that. add the halo 5 beta to it.

First and foremost, who ever said Palmer was an ODST is dead wrong, she was just a regular Marine captain. ODSTs would have torn the crap out of her stuck-up -Yoink-.

And I like to think ODSTs still exist, look at Vaz and what ever his name was in the Kilo-Five books, they are still ODSTs.

The ODSTs weren’t on Infinity because they refused to have anything to do with the sillyness going on around Requiem, the awful characters were too much.

But in reality I just think they weren’t on Infinity because with Spartan IVs they kind of had the Special Operations kind of covered, and on a carrier the size of Infinity, it would be very hard to get close enough to a planet’s surface in order to drop SOIEVs or HEVs safely. Some were likely made Spartan IVs, but I highly doubt that they would be willing to become the ā€œfreaksā€ they despised so much during the war.
