Missing from the update

so the recent weapons and gameplay updates for halo 4 have been out a week and i have had plenty of games with these new settings.

I really like the 4 shot BR and the increased movement as that makes the game feel a lot more like the classic halos, but i have found that there is still something missing from the game that would really just finish it off and make the game a lot more fun. with the increased damage and increased speed halo 4 plays a lot faster than it did originally but one thing is still really slow, shield recharge rate! If this was increased by even as little as 2 seconds bringing the charge time from 7 seconds to 5 seconds it would make a huge difference to the game.

This small change would combine the increased speed of halo 4 with traditional gameplay of the other halo titles.

This is just my opinion and as such I am not saying that it has to be done. I am just pointing it out to see if anyone else feels the same way.

Would certainly make gametypes like Rumble Pit and Regicide less of a nightmare.

Shield recharge delay is 6 seconds, a tie with reach for longest time to wait in a halo game. I think making it 5 would be good.

Fourthed or fifthed or wherever we are now. I wanted a shield recharge bump even before the TU.

The problem is how fast players respawn. Having a slower shield recharge rate is good because it punishes you harder for taking damage or putting yourself in a bad spot and forces it player to be smarter about their actions. Having a faster shield recharge rate allows people to play recklessly because they will always have the safety net of their shields.

The problem Halo 4 faces is that most gametypes have instant respawn. Many times when a person is killed, they respawn and cleans up their own kill because they came back into the game before someone shields could recharge. Having the respawn time of 5 seconds in slayer and 10 seconds in OBJ is essential in balancing Halo.

the shield recharge rate is slower than in other halo games in general (reach is the same)I dont believe that the slow recharge makes players more careful i just think it makes it easier for groups of spartans to over whelm smaller groups as as soon as they die they spawn and come back to the battle before the shields of the survivors have recharged.

Yes, it needs a bump up. They don’t even have to do a TU for it. It’s just a gameplay setting.

Any one else got a thought on this before it gets lost into the pile of never read forum pages?

With the game at or greater than the pace of halo 2, a shorter recharge wait is imperative.
