Missing content even though Halo:CE is installed

When I try to launch Halo:CE campaign from the Master Chief Collection it gives me a missing content error. I have downloaded and installed both the campaign and and multiplayer for just Halo: CE because my network is extremely slow and I was going to play the campaign while I wait for the others to download, however when I try to launch the campaign the game gives me an error: “MISSING CONTENT: The following required content is not installed: Halo:CE Campaign. Would you like to customize your installation now?” and when I select “OK” the game takes me to the intelligent download (custom installation) screen, where it shows that both the campaign and multiplayer are installed, and there is an “installed” sign above Halo: CE.
I have searched on the forums but there is no solution which has so far worked. My last resort would be to download the entire 54 something GB update all at once on my unbearably slow internet, which I do not want to do and if I have to do that I at least want to know that it will definitely work.
Things I have tried:

  • Re-download and re-install both the campaign and multiplayer
  • Install the campaign without the multiplayer
  • Re-install the base game (I have a physical disk version) and then install the Halo: CE update
I am using an Xbox One S
I really need a solution for this as I love all the halo games and I was really looking forward to binging the entire master chief story.

I think you need to re-install the game using your disc and then download the entire update. The latest big patch replaced all the code that came on the disc, I believe, so the full update is mandatory for playing any campaign while connected to Live.
