Couldn’t help but notice that 343 once again left the Mark V out of their game. So I figured it might be interesting to see what armor everyone else would like to see added that 343 chose to leave out. Personally I’d like to see the stuff they used in the Fall of Reach animated series as DLC or something like that. Anything but more wannabe Recon helmets anyway.
They’ll be leaving Mark V out because all of the armour in Halo 5 is second generation Mjolnir. Mark V never made it to Gen2, it was replaced.
Not accurate actually. Firstly because the noble armor is a thing, and secondarily because the Mark V does appear in Halo 4 as a Gen2 armor design. So they have the stuff for it and so forth, but haven’t implemented it ingame. Besides, this is MP armor, they can add what they like to the offerings.
Case in point, SPI armor could be plausible despite that it’s a wholly different system - I mean they did it for ODST gear, so there’s no reason it couldn’t happen.
Yeah what gives they should add all the armour from any previous halo.
I wanna see the Mk VII. While its development was still in prototype phase during the Human-Covenant War, and certain design elements were used in the newer GEN 2 platform, Id like to see it fleshed out. I read the the GEN 2 DECIMATOR variant is the closet thing, but i have not seen any renders nor pics of this armor variant.
Another armor variant that would look cool would be a hard light armor. Instead of using the armor plates, have just a holographic armor design over the metal-allow suit. Yes, it’d be very Mass Effect-esque, but it wouldnt counter the Halo cannon-Recent attempts at reverse engineering Promethean hard-light technology has been adapted to Mjolnir GEN 2 systems. These had-light armor plated provide ample ballistic and explosive protection that rivals current designs.
I think they should add hayabusa for collecting all the skulls and also add armor rewards for stuff like completing the game on legendary and getting all achievments just like in halo 3.
I think 343 might be leaving out the Mark V because it’s a relic from Bungie’s Halo and 343 want to separate themselves from that. Create their own path, with their own armour.
I would love the see the SPI armor in the game. Even though it is not truly a Mjolnir it would still be cool to see it in game.

They had to remove that because it was based on Ninja Gaiden. They only got the approval from those guys to use it in one game. Not worth it to pay someone else for the ability to use a cosmetic item.
Please remember 343i did mention free maps and more items (armour, skins, stances etc) after launch of Halo 5 so don’t think it wont make a return… if i’m correct i think they’re adding the Halo CE Pistol in future so what a great time to back bring back Mk V
With the outrageous amount of armors there are in the game already (175 armor pieces IIRC) there’s absolutely no reason they can’t include every armor features in Halo up to this point.

that’s a shame but I still think there should be some armor that needs unlocking rather than all in req packs. Was a bit gutted when I completed halo 5 on legendary and got nout.

I agree, I beat legendary solo on Friday and got nothing… Was hoping 343i would award something like a weapon skin or emblem but nothing

There are things you can unlock and plenty of items in the game that are not in Req Packs. Check the thread for those.
Beating a game on legendary should be its own reward. Many games give you nothing but an achievement for beating it on the hardest setting. I am fine with just that. If they added an armor that’d be cool. But if not? I’ll live with myself

I understand and yes it is quite satisfying seeing the “Lone Wolf” achievement on display but the amount of amour they put into the game and emblems, skins, stances, assassinations etc it’s a shame 343i didn’t put something in there to reward the players who completed the challenge (like Helioskrill on Halo MCC)
I don’t miss something that’s not in the game, im just disappointed at the redesign. security helmet was the GOAT and now it looks like crap.

Mark V is already confirmed to be added to REQ packs later.
I myself would like to see an SPI MJOLNIR variant, they could say it was designed for S-III’s in the Spartan branch or something along those lines.

Technically there’s a precedent for upgraded SPI Variants, so it’s not like it would be impossible.
Also do you have a link to where they said they’d add Mark V later? Would like to check that out.
