Ex Covenant aliens and some cut ones that we didn’t see could be more interesting to have than usual ones.Im thinking of Prophets,Drones,Blind Wolf,Sharquoi and Yonhet.
Now Blind Wolf,Sharquoi we read about in books and they were in plans to appear in Halo CE but didn’t make it in the game.Yonhet we saw in Halo Nightfall.
As for Prophets and Drones they have much potential as returning aliens.I think Drones could return as a huge variety of insect enemies,not just the flying ones.Prophets by the lore defeated Elites,so they are obviously capable fighters.
I could have also mentioned Engineers and Skirmishers but don’t see much potential for new things there,though i wouldn’t mind if they returned.

I know,they don’t seem strong but Cortana called them out during Halo 5 recruitment speech.Maybe they could be spying and sabotaging the UNSC forces or maybe some of them could help the humans.

Think it had a lot more to do with them existing in a live action during development than any real significant purpose story wise.

Yeah, they probably used a lot of budget on stuff like the CGI Elite, so having to resort to makeup and costumes on a human isn’t surprising.

I honestly had no idea Yonhet even existed, until the Halo 5 ‘Cortana Speech’ scene. When I heard that, I was all, “What’s she talking about?”
