Missed opportunity with no BR

Honestly if your launching on PC your missing a huge community that wants a halo battle royal. Like I’m watching DrDisrespect right now and his reaction to your trailer. “Just imagine it.” As he looks at the huge vista from last years trailer. Yet you guys said no.

Missed opportunity.

I’m perfectly content without a Halo BR. A lot of Halo’s defining mechanics are not applicable to BR anyways. Map control, power weapon contesting, and balanced starts go right out the window. If they were to do Halo BR, let it be a spin off that has greater room to experiment with the formula, not a main line title.

I’m glad it’s not coming. Generally hate the mode and generally makes games worse, takes away from other game parts. Anyway like 343i have said if someone wants it that bad…they can just make it forge.

Firstly, it’s “you’re”. Everyone makes grammatical errors, but you made the same one twice within a sentence.
Secondly, battle royale was a just a fad. The hype for battle royale games is almost completely dead at this stage.

A missed opportunity that the community seems to be taking in stride.

Honestly, if they ever do a BR thing in the future, it’d be in some spin-off that’d quickly be forgotten. As others have said, leave it to intrepid Forgers. Infinite’s Forge mode I’d imagine would be amazing - given how much 5 built off of the last iterations of it.

Methinks we shouldn’t put much stock in takes from someone who just got themselves banned from twitch because he livestreamed in a public bathroom…

Development time and resources are not unlimited, the time it would take to make a quality BR experience in Halo is inevitably cost the game in some other area.

The last thing the Halo series needs to do is follow more trends.

No. As 343 said, the only BR that needs to be in this is the Battle Rifle.

Go back to Fortnite.

What if, and this is crazy, i343’s decision to not spend resources on a Battle royal mode, which would dilute said resources and most likely affect other areas of the game negatively, leads to a new big thing which outshine Battle royal and becomes the next new thing? Making People flock to Halo Infinite.

While DrDisrespect can have his opinions and share them, implementing a BR mode for the solen reason to have one, is quite likely to end up in the same department as Halo 4. It’s there to chase a demographic which wasn’t interested in Halo in the first place by changing Halo more to what they may like. Not to mention the sour smell of “money grabbing” which follows.

If there’s an absolute must for a Halo Battle Royale, then make it a stand-alone game which is tailored for that experience, and so that there aren’t other parts of the game which can end up bad due to a lack of resources.

Personally glad that there won’t be a BR mode in infinite. That’s time and money that could be spent on other aspects of the game that makes Halo, Halo

Did that happen? Good grief. Just want to add that maybe OP should go a step further and ask, why put stock in the opinion of any Youtuber or streamer, even if they didn’t do a silly thing like stream in a public bathroom? Just because they have lots of viewers? That doesn’t necessarily make their opinion any more valuable than anyone else’s. It just means they’re good at being an entertaining/charismatic person. So OP, it’s not a convincing argument to say “Halo should have battle royale because some person on Twitch says it should”.

Lol I didn’t know that I was in English class. That’s why fortnight is still in the top five of most watched games on Twitch. Oh, I capitalized that just for you sweetheart.

I don’t think forge could handle random weapon spawns with distinctive ammo placement. Nor 100 players in a big enough map that random chooses an area that shrinks in a circular manner. Maybe even have the covenant drop in at random spots to get covey power weapons. Today’s forge could not handle such inspiration.

So your BR wouldn’t be much different than many of the other BRs out there? Why exactly would a BR be needed then?

3 major free to play models fortnite , apex and pubg ( there might be others ) 2 new players within a $60 game structure . blackops4 and now fallout76. It remains to be seen if the dlc br genre can really survive in this format . Black ops basically cut a single player campaign to accomodate it and fallouts combat controls are so janky I wouldn’t bother playing .

If halo was to join the bandwagon by the time they arrive late 2020 the BR trend may have already come and gone , then if it’s still a thing there’s overload fatigue with another game with more of the same . Yes halo could do it but the question is do we really want it and if we do , what do cut out of infinite to accomodate it ?

Frankly I think br suits the free to play model respawn could have added it to TF3 $60 model but were smart enough to let it stand or fall as it’s own entity ,even then they’ve had to push back any TF3 considerations to try and keep up with the demands and resources required to do this genre .

Dr whatever YouTube guy is hardly an authority on halo or gaming in general these guys make there $$$ dressing up and acting like fools for likes on a game whose primary audience is very very different to that of the halo community

Back in the day Halo was the one that inspired other games. Last time I checked doing the opposite didn’t turn out quite well for Halo. Invasion, Warzone, etc. there are ways to make a fun, big multiplayer experience the Halo way without relying on the BR mode. Besides, if the forge is gonna be powerful enough we could be seeing al sorts of BR and other modes made by the community.

For me there’s one and one thing only that comes to my mind when I read BR and Halo and I’d prefer to keep it that way.

I dont think there’s really sense to add basically what is an old trend into a game that is being released over a year away from now, also given that there are so many games/options available that have such feature in the game.
Hopefully, Infinite could add its own type of gamemode(s) instead of just following currently popular trends for during the time of the release it’s far too late to gain too much popularity with battle royale. It’s simply too late to join in to the trend by then. Likely there will be some new trendy gamemode that every starting gamer is whining to be on every installment instead of letting variety of games to be developed and demanding studios to waste time and resources that could have been used to innovate, in including some currently trendy gamemode in everything.

Also, maybe a bit used to Halo when my first thought when BR was mentioned that someone was complaining that there wasn’t a battle rifle in the trailer instead of assault rifle or some thing menial as that.

Sweetheart? Quite passive-aggressive there, but I’ll bite. You want to hear something about the general population? … They don’t watch Twitch. If triple-A developers pandered specifically to a Twitch-based audience then they wouldn’t earn more than their budget.

Yes, Fortnight is still one of the top five because the other companies following that bandwagon haven’t had success.

Should 343 add features of the other top 5 games to infinite?

[DrDisrespect also said he wanted a straight up classic Halo, the slow firing 4-5 shot BR the way it used to be.
