Misriah vs. Songnam: Corporate Rivalries and Team Combat

What if teams were seperated not by color, but by the make of armor you choose to wear? Teams, Clans and Armor would become part of the same experience.
This idea is purely cosmetic and social, no gameplay changes here. Allow me to explain:

The first choice you would make in the Armory is your corporate affiliation. Which company appeals to you the most? You choose one, and all your armor options will be supplied by this corporation. You can switch at any time, but investments in one comapny will not carry over to the next. Each one will progress seperately for you.

  • This choice will slot you into prepared rosters. In team games, the system will group you with others of the same company, and pit you against a gang of Spartans allied to a rival corporation. The performance of each company would be made public and held in some respect.
  • Each corporation would have its own brand color, like red or white.
    Some examples of teams/corporations:

UNSC Science /Green - Mjolnir and other mainstream military projects.

Misriah Foundry /Red - Specialized high-end product. Too expensive for the military.

Songnam Laboratories /Yellow - Light, intuitive designs.

BXR Industries /Blue - Reverse-Engineed Covenant gear, fictionally built to melt in a controlled and predictable way.

PART 2/ hypothetics
This involves Armor Abilites and Corporations. Like what if a BXR suit could shed armor plates? Say if you’re on fire, or in a bad spot. After dropping the major percentage of your armor, you move faster at the cost of lower shields.
Misriah suits would carry more ammo…
Songnam improves your scopes by 1X…

And etc. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.

Yess!!@#!!! I LOVE YOUR IDEA!

Sounds awesome.

Thanks mans, I think it’s a little late for Halo 4, but 5 and 6 are anyone’s game.

This actually sounds pretty awesome.

Cool

It’s better than red vs blue if you ask me!

Thanks for the support peaps.

HAY YOU
If you like what you see, say so. It helps with the standings.

I wonder what a Spartan would look like with Elite armor. Probably a lot like a Spartan.

Welcome back to the light of day, old thread.

Sounds good, but wouldn’t that significantly increase search times?

Yes, that is a side effect that I’m glad you brought up. 343 has hinted at their engine being scaled to “what [they’re] working on.” It’s hard to know what it is they’re working on, but it’s easy to speculate on new ideas to push the boundaries of contemporary shooters. Besides, if they choose to integrate drop-in players to replace quitters, the system described in OP would work all the better.
