Minor Improvements to Flood

Flood Mode is a really great game type and is a great successor to infection, but the minor quirks also make it borderline unplayable. Before I start typing, realize that I am not trying to argue in this thread, just recommending some minor improvements that would make the gametype certainly more interesting than the dilapidated mess it is now.

Fix the Glitches
This is obvious. I cannot STAND the people who glitch out of the map on Complex and get into unfair spots on the other maps. You can’t even get some of the glitchers on complex because apparently they’ve figured out how to get to the roof of that cheap pocket space. It drags on the game and brings undesirables wins because they can’t win in any other game type.

Develop a Solution to Lag or Remove Thrusters
This is the big point. Thrusters are fair and make the game more fast paced, BUT if you’re connection is not good (like most H4 players), then you slash so fast that the target cannot react and they subsequently die after seeing 1 zombie. Perhaps if there was a “Good Connection” search preference, it would find players that have similar connections to yours so you can play in an actual match of zombies. Half the time these kids on Dial-Up connection start flying across the map and teleport slash you, which only serves to make the game ridiculous. I really wish that the game would kick laggy/bad connection kids from games where everyone else has flawless ping/connection because they have such a ridiculous advantage in any gametype (espec. Flood)

The only other viable solution would be of course to remove thrusters from the gametype completely, which would alter the gameplay completely and would not be an extremely viable solution.

Other than that, the gametype is very fun and interesting. Too bad there are at least 2 kid per game with bad ping who can easily get you when they’re zombies.

What do you guys think, should they provide a solution to avoid players with bad ping/eliminate them or should they remove thrusters outright…or both?

I also think the infected should have no shields. it would make the pistol more useful. Basically how H3 did infection.

REMOVE THE FORCED COLOR PLEASE. It’s ugly and it makes no sense. I want to see my own colors. The only reason I can see for doing this, is to stop certain colored players from blending into the environment. But that whole reason is complete nullified because we have camo and can blend in anyways. So what is the point of the forced color? There literally is none. If you really want to deter blending in/camping, give the Flood Enhanced Radars, and take off camo. Don’t force everyone to be an ugly color.

Thrusters need to be toned down or removed. I’m glad the Infected have more of a chance now, and they’re not lambs to slaughter, but the Thruster combined with the weird sword mechanics can be downright ridiculous and broken. I can just thrust at someone, mash Right Trigger and get a kill.

There needs to be a soft kill zone on top of the buildings on Complex. maybe a 10 or 15 second kill timer.

I know a lot of guys probably like to cheap it out and hide up there, yeah. But it is cheap as hell. Zombies aren’t equipped in such a way to be able to use armor abilities up there and honestly it is brainless to camp it with like two guys.

Also, Promethean vision on Zombies needs to be swapped for another ability. I think Hardlight shield would work. A mob of zombies can make great use of the shield. The Promethean vision just light you up and reveals you to the world, which I feel like kinda defeats the point of sneaking up to kill a human.

Also I think the Magnum needs to be switched to a Boltshot. The charge thing isn’t the point, the Boltshot can still headshot but it lacks a scope. This will make some of the really cheap high vantage points less obnoxious since it will take some effort to try to snipe off a zombie across the map.

These are just my opinions. In my own experience the Zombies have it a little worse then the human players. Mostly because all the humans need to succeed is a good camping spot.

If they remove the SHORYUKEN! ability from the zombies I’m going to visit 343i with a chainsaw and a sparkle in my eye.
