Mini Nukes strike again.

I’ll keep this brief because I tend to ramble with my posts. Halo 4’s frag grenades need to be nerfed. Giving people grenades that take your shields down completely and leaving you one shot promotes really aggravating and predictable gameplay. I never had a huge issue with grenades until Halo Reach launched, because in Reach they were literally the destroyers of worlds, and they ruined Halo Reach for me for a pretty long time. You tend to kind of get used to people falling back on grenades every single time because they can’t aim, but that doesn’t mean it’s not extremely annoying. Please do the community a favor and nerf the grenades a little bit so they won’t be so tempted to ruin the gameplay.

halo 4 grenades suck. they need a boost if anything. they are a shell of their former selves

Grenades should be able to kill you instantly if your on it or within 1-2 ft of it. Although I agree they’re a bit to powerful so I suggest the effective blast radius be reduced adding skill to how accurate you have to be with them.

> halo 4 grenades suck. they need a boost if anything. they are a shell of their former selves

They bounce a bit to much but god help you if your within 3 ft of them.

yeah they nerfed the blast radius too much. they need to allow grenades like normal ie, you can pick them up off the ground and dont need to use the grenade perk to have a decent radius.

im not a fan of those changes to the gameplay. halo 2 and 3 nades were nice and should have never been touched.

Increase the blast radius just the effective blast radius should be

1-2ft killed out right
3-4ft heavy damage to shields (loss or near loss of them)
5-6ft small shield damage

that sounds good to me except the killed outright part. make him one or two shot if hes standing on it then the rest of what you said and im on board (he is wearing a mjolnir suit after all)

0-1 ft killed out right
2ft basically almost dead but has a chance of escape.

id go

1-2ft one or two shot
3-4ft heavy damage to shields (loss or near loss of them)
5-6ft small shield damage

if they killed outright i think that would be too op (whats the point of the armor at that point?)

You still be able to kill someone outright if they might as well be holding it, just make the instant kill difficult to di so it requires a lot of skill.

The armour protects them from ranged shrapnel however it would be like being hit directly with the rocket launcher if you ate within less than 1ft of the grenade.

see theres the issue. your turning grenades into a power weapon. literally. with the boltshot in this game, theres no need to have 2 power weapons upon starting the game.

It requires a tremendous amount of luck for the instant death thing to happen meaning it also requires skill. It has always had a chance of an instant kill since CE, all I’m saying is that you should have a minute chance of an i stant kill happening.

i just feel that at that point it feels too much like call of duty with everyone chucking random grenades hoping for a kill. no skill at that point even if its a small area or a low chance.

It’s always been there in every halo game so its more halo than COD plus it would require skill to get it within less than 1ft after all most of the time it lands within 4ft so it will rarely happen.

8 people throwing 2 grenades each. multiply that by two (one for each team) and it happens a lot more than you think.

and it hasnt happened in several games. the progression shouldnt go backwards.

It has it’s just been really rare which is why it shouldnt be able to instant kill you.

you will have to refresh my memory then as i only remember it happening after the person already took damage. never before.

Point blank hit within 1ft of the grenade became an instant kill back in halo 3 for example and it happened in Reach to ( a bot too often in Reach though)

Frags feel about right in Halo 4, imo. No, i don’t believe under any circumstance frags should kill you when you have full shields. There are already many, many one shot weapons in Halo. We don’t need frag corner camping to replace plasma grenade death charge as the cheap way to get kills.

Maybe it should insta-kill them if the frag bounces and hits their armor directly, actually exploding on the armor.
