I remember that quote (but I too am laxy), but as I recall it was a hint, at most. It was a strong one certainly but with the game subject to change they wouldn’t go so far as to confirm anything at that point.
I’d still say it’s likely (can I just have mash potatoes then?) but do leave room for the chance of unfortunate development cuts.

What that “something” is unknown at this time.

What if the said vehicle is neither UNSC nor Covenant in origin but something entirely…different? Maybe something from this new ancient threat (it would be fitting since they are supposedly very powerful).

The gist is pretty much the same, it is strongly hinting at one in context. Put the two together, “some vehicle surprises” “will dwarf that weapon”. What else could they possibly be talking about other than the cyclops as a weapon? It is clear as day once you reread the last sentence enough.

I wouldn’t look to this to be the next mech game though. the post actually said no to the mech but there would be a larger vehicle that you pilot that would dwarf that mech. So that could be a number of things besides mechs. It is probably just an elephant or a scarab.
Depending on how the suit handles, I could go one of two ways …
A)“Holy -Yoink- this is really awesome.”
or
B)“BAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWW HALO TURNED IN LOST PLANET/STEEL BATTALION/MECH WARRIOR IN SPACE NOOOOOOOOO”
