Minecraft Mash-Up Pack Update

So I have a friend who just finished Combat Evolved for the very first time, and since they love Minecraft, I wanted to show him the Halo Mash-Up Pack’s premade map, since he’d now be able to appreciate it a little bit more.
I noticed the map received quite the upgrade from when I last played it. Instead of just freely exploring every area and maybe trying to find music discs at particular landmarks, many locations were locked.
Further exploring revealed the map had been updated into a linear Adventure Mode-style quest, with every area now having its own puzzle to solve, which unlocked later areas upon completion. The puzzles were all simplistic, but wandering around and discovering what to do had its charm.

Figured I’d post something about it here, since I don’t think the update was very heavily advertised. If you want to play through the Adventure map, I recommend going through solo, as I’ve noticed flaws with the teleportation when multiple people try to be transported. It can be completed on Peaceful, and probably Survival as well, assuming important things don’t get blown up. I also know of only one area where, unless I missed an obvious stairway, digging a pathway for myself was required to progress (a certain area of the Silent Cartographer section). A playthrough on Peaceful should probably take somewhere between 45 minutes to an hour.

For those of you who perhaps HAVE played the updated map, what were your thoughts, and what would you perhaps like to see in the future with the Mash-Up Pack?

wasn’t aware the map was updated, might need to hop back on minecraft some time

I went through it again today on Survival, took about two hours. Completely possible to do, and the added enemies make a fun challenge (there’s even appropriately a few “Warden Eternal fights”!), but I highly recommend turning off mob griefing to ensure Creepers don’t blow up anything of vital importance.

Which version of minecraft? Xbox Edition or the new Java Edition.

it’s most likely the bedrock edition of Minecraft (Windows 10 and new Xbox MC). Java doesn’t have these mash-ups and Xbox One edition is no longer updated.

Yep, Win10 version, but I think even the Switch (which can play with Xbox and Win10 players) got the Halo pack as well, which to me is just awesome.

I guess it’s time to re-install Minecraft.

Been a while since I played, but I went and checked my old playthrough. Check out inside the bases, near where a sniper rifle spawns in the actual map. You should find something that sets off a mechanism of some kind (don’t worry, while it’ll look dangerous, you’ll be safe!). Triggering it should spawn a chest where the Banshee would spawn outside. Do this for both bases, and you should get the keycards. Take them to the downed Pelican.

Please don’t revive old topics thanks
