What is this ur and bornstellar didact -Yoink-?
THe games certainly did not mention 2 didacts.
I don’t get it at all, in the terminals, the librarian locked up the urdidact right? THen where the -Yoink- was the bornstellar one during that time?

OP, I suggest you read Cryptum and Primordium, they detail on the other Didact’s journey.

The Bornstellar Didact was on the Ark right? Because if you take the Domain terminals and couple it with Cryptum that means they fired the Halo array after the Librarian locked up the original Didact. Right? I’m confused. Lol.

watch all halo terminals… the are two visually different didacts…AIIGGHHTTT!!! i did not read the book but just the synopsis and the UR didact was killed by the master builder. before execution he transferred all his knowledge to a young fore runner worker called Bronsteller and he mutated to become the reincarnation of the didact. the one you fight is the BR didact and he has the noticable vampier look. while the one in most of the terminals is UR… he is more white than red.
Are those books and the game supposed to build off each other?
I’ve read the synopsis of the books, but if I had not read that, there would be absolutely no hint in the games that suggests there are 2 didacts.
If you haven’t read the books and played halo 4 and watched the terminals, there wouldn’t be anything suggesting the bornstellar didact or any of that. Idk if the games are goign the same direction as the novels.
The Bornstellar-Didact was introduced in the Halo 3 terminals (not as Bornstellar, but just Didact) and both of them are expounded upon in Cryptum and Primordium.
The Halo 4 storyline is saturated with lore, and it may come a bit fast and furious for those who haven’t read the books. I would suggest looking up some info on both Didacts to understand it better.

I know what you mean when you say the Didact changes into a “vampire” look but it is NOT due to the transfer to Bornstellar. It is explained in one of the Terminals that the Ur-Didact went through many augmentations/mutations in order become immune to flood infection and this is the reason he looks more monstrous by the end of the story. This also explains why he cannot become composed by the Composer.
