Military Excuses for Taking Tuesday Off???

So anyone in the military knows that playing hokie isnt as easy as doing so with a civilian job. Sometimes you can get bed rest (sick days) but its hard if you have medics that wont help you even in a real situation. Does anybody have some good ideas, or stories on what your going to tell your companies on launch day? It would all be so easy if we could get game releases on fridays lol.

if you have a kid say they have an appointment.

In the military myself. Using a pass day and something that I’m sure most people in the military will use called “Leave.” With 30 days of leave a year / 2.5 days a month accrual I don’t know how you can’t have any saved up. I have a fair amount saved even after vacations.

Personally I am using a pass day I gained for hard work and 1 day of leave.

Sorry wish I could help

Just tell them you have to hunt down the chief and you will be gone on tuesday lol.

Should’ve just taken some leave. Just be patient.

This is actually a good one because your boss isn’t gonna ask too many questions and just let’s you leave.

That said, I’m one of only 3 people on shift that night and we need a minimum of 2 so mayyybe I can just ask for the day off and get it.

Should’ve taken a few days of leave ahead of time though if you were planning on missing work for H5 to begin with.

I’m taking a couple days leave, need time off anyways, no better reason than halo.

Former Navy so I got a few suggestions:

  1. Talk to your supervisor and be honest.
-I talked to my Chief about taking the weekend off to go to the Gears of War hypefest this past February, and to my amazement he let me go (provided I fill out a leave chit just in case I was gone longer than expected)

  2. Go S.I.Q.
-Go to Medical and act weak / sick. If you can get away with it, they will give you an S.I.Q. chit for 1 to 2 days.

  3. Use LEAVE days
-This may be tough since Halo 5’s release date is close, but if you are able to pull it off, more power to you. Just submit a leave chit for 2 to 3 days and see if it gets approved. I wouldn’t put the reason for “Halo” though, so just be creative with the reason on why you want to use leave days, like caring for a family member for a few days or something like that.

Good luck to you!

Army here. I got a day off to “take my dog to the vet”. Our 1SG was pretty cool though. Good luck man.

Shoot yourself in the foot

I say don’t try to get the whole day. It’s much easier to get an afternoon off for “an appointment.”

I’d say use the ol barbed wire trick. Make it look like you have chicken pox.

Is that a serious question?

OP just cut off one of your fingers. It worked for people in The Witcher 3.

Back in my unit you still had to show up for accountability formation and if you were begging off sick then your next stop was the med shed. They tended to frown on malingerers and would report you to chain of command with a quickness.

Civilian or military, you still accrue leave. Why not use that?

If you are being serious, and I’ve met people with the same question as you, yes people in the military play video games. My friend is a Marine in California and like half his unit has an Xbox One.
