As many of you know, 343i has stated players who reach SR 152 in Halo 5: Guardians will receive a small token in Halo Infinite.
Recently on the Halo subreddit, ske7ch made a post stating the following:
> This has been mentioned before, but just to reiterate - the grind to 152 is very intensive and time consuming. Real talk that there’s no way that whatever the team ends up offering as a token in Halo Infinite will truly equate to the amount of investment needed to get there. While we do still want to recognize players who have reached max level in Halo 5, the team is also looking at other criteria and ways to also acknowledge activity and tenure in other titles and milestones (MCC, etc…).

What other milestones would you like to see be used for rewards in Halo Infinite?
One thing I am curious about is the Targetmaster skins which were added to Halo 5: Guardians last September. With the above post, I suspect this could be one of the milestones 343i is looking at for a reward in Halo Infinite. I am hopeful we will receive more details on these other milestones soon.
For MCC milestones, I’d be interested to see if those who achieved LASO Master will get a reward in Infinite. Perhaps an armor set reward like Recon or Hyabusa from previous games.
Probably a very unpopular opinion, but I don’t believe there should be much of anything in this way. Maybe nameplates like Reach did for veteran players of the older titles, but aside from that I think it’s a mistake to risk putting off newcomers by locking exclusive content behind a “sorry, you didn’t play the last games,” wall.
The biggest reward for being a veteran Halo player is that you’re experienced and familiar with the universe and game. It’s intangible, but less experienced and newer players will spot it a mile away and the good ones will respect you for it.

I see what you mean, and I do agree that being experienced is a reward in and of itself. But rewarding veteran players of the franchise doesn’t necessarily become off-putting to new players. On the contrary, it might motivate them to become more invested in the series and get into the entire Halo experience as opposed to just casually playing one or two games.
Also, plenty of companies in a variety of industries reward long time customers with discounts, promotional offers, and other benefits. My insurance company routinely drops rates based on length of time using their service. Car dealerships frequently sport loyalty programs that offer exclusive discounts to people that have bought multiple cars through them. There’s a common statistic in business that it’s five times more expensive to earn a new customer than it is to retain an old one. So it makes sense for a company like 343 to reward their longtime fans/customers for sticking with them.
@HappyPlace8166 I see where you’re coming from as well. I won’t be upset if there’s some type of reward for longtime players; I’ll obviously stand to gain from that kind of thing like pretty much everyone else here on the forums. I do stand by my original point about it being a bit of a risky move when it comes to new players and how they may react to it, but you’re also right in pointing out that there are ways to reward old players that don’t demerit new ones. Like so many other things, it’s just a tricky balancing act for 343i.
Ultimately I think the biggest reward they can give longtime players is a game that’s on par with the best the series has had to offer. Here’s hoping Infinite is that game!

I think your nameplate idea is the best option. It’s much more subtle than offering armor or a weapon skin, etc. As long the older games remain available to new members of the community, they can obtain the exclusive content.
The trouble is if 343i decide to somehow track the amount of time players have played the games. The Milestones mentioned in the original post sound very similar to what was offered in the Waypoint app for Xbox 360. Will we see some kind of revival? Can’t be sure, but overall I like the idea of senior players being able to express their devotion to the series.
Imagine on a player’s in-game service record a panel of campaign ribbons and medals to commemorate all their accomplishments across the Halo games. I imagine this panel would look similar to what members of the armed forces have on their uniforms now. Would like to hear thoughts on this from anyone.

I like this idea!
Halo: Reach had a Legacy section in the Service Record which this reminds me of.
