Might As Well Stop Posting New Ideas (FRANKY)

According to Frank O’Conner the game was 100% complete as of a few days ago. So all y’all might as well stop telling 343 what would be “better” and just sit and wait. ON THE OTHER HAND… IT’S DONE! IT’S DONE! Halo 4 is finally finished. Chief is just waiting to go back into action, so I suggest all the “haters” do the same. Out.

no, haters are what make the game better

i don’t see why they shouldn’t, it helps 343i understand what people are interesting in seeing in the game, maybe not for halo 4 but for halo 5, halo 4 could use custom gametypes as a testing ground as well.

> no, haters are what make the game better

Haters gonna hate anyway.

Agreed. At least wait until the game is out so that there’s at least a possibility that it will be changed in an update, but for now I don’t see any reason to complain.

Stating your opinion is okay though, just as long as its constructive and you aren’t beating a dead horse.

haters point out flaws that need to be adressed, they aren’t exactly haters but more critics and you know, everyone’s a critic.

The game may be done but 343 does look on these forums, and listen to us. Halo 4 is completed, but that doesn’t mean that 343 can’t fix a few issues with an update/patch. However, people need to stop complaining about certain parts of the game when it’s not even out yet.

Can’t wait until Halo 4!

Not to be a complete JA, but until they create a Halo 5 forum, or announce its production, I believe you post is irrelevant. In the month after release so many threads are gonna be buried and forgotten etc that barely anyone will remember them. There’s no way 343 is goin to go digging through these forums diligently wading through all the petty BS, complaint thread, flame bait, and so forth to glean maybe 40 or so half cocked ideas for the next game when they have a system such as “cortana web” to give them real time ingame feedback for what people like, dislike, and create. Just seems painfully inefficient. I could be wrong, and for all I know I may be. But as a manager I wouldn’t waste my man power in such a fashion when I have technology that can do 75% of that work for them.

Did someone forget we still have 2 more Halo’s on the way?

There are things called Title and Playlist Updates that allow 343 to change the game after release. Some companies come out with them on the day of release.

People who feel like they know more than 343i never listen. I have been trying to figure out why they don’t try to consult on the project instead of acting out their misguided anger on the forums. ((((Shrugs))))

And on another note, “haters” do nothing but hate.

Concerned fans post well thought out constructive ideas on how to improve a game they have already sat down and spent time with. Videos on YouTube are one thing, actually interfacing with it in a tactile fashion is something completely different.

Example, I could recite the specifications of a fire alarm to you and the function of all its parts until you are very familiar with the technical jargon, but once you got your hands on the parts and so forth, you wouldn’t know your head from your -Yoink-.

There also is a lot of things that could be added as DLC

Actually, some suggestion can still be implemented, obiusly only for playist or minor changes

firstly, 343i don’t really dig through posts, they more or less get seen when they’re posted and if they’re of interested get forwarded to the correct people.

343i will be browsing through all the hate topics a week after the game has come out simply because they have to in order to receive feedback, although the people might be very aggressive, mad, it does come from a true place and isn’t hating for the sake of hating, something in the game they personally see is bad and its making them mad so they go to the forums to complain about it, 343i need such information to find holes in the sandbox balance, glitches and such, although there reasons might not be correct or there ideas to fix the issue horrible, there is something that should be inspected at the very least.

as a manger, you should understand how feedback works, if you don’t then the business your managing can never be improved simply because you’d be ignoring the majority of feedback the comes through your doors, the internet has become the ultimate tool to provide feedback directly to businesses, either through blogs, reviews, forums or social networking sites, it’s still feedback and shouldn’t be ignored purely because its “inefficient”, in fact, its probably more efficient to do so because you get 100x more feedback that can be looked into and considered in the same amount of time, i’ve spoken to other managers of smaller businesses and they agree that all feedback should and is taken very seriously regardless of the manner its given and where it’s given.

people shouldn’t stop giving ideas and feedback because the game has gone gold, the feedback and ideas are still very important and shouldn’t be discouraged from posting.

Allow me to rephrase.

Posting with fix this or fix that, is just as useless at this point as it was a month ago, if not more so considering nothing will be changed until after release now.

We have officially entered the hurry up and wait period.

As for Internet feedback. Sure it helps, even people that are blind with anger. But feedback such as this should be taken with a grain of salt and compared with regulated feedback. Both work hand in hand. But I’m not going to assign one of my division heads to lurk anything for days at a time, just a quick sweep, if it stands out more than 15 or so times, compare it to the data. If the data doesn’t match the whining, apologize and move on to the next systematically narrowing down the issues.

But no, at this point until the game is in our hands we’re all just speculating on so,etching we haven’t experienced. It’s like complaining about services before they are rendered.

both are the same, a hater is a concerned fan, some people can explain things and others can’t, everyone has a different approach when it comes to giving feedback, just because people are criticizing every little thing doesn’t mean they’re hating, even if they’re very depressed in there tone, they’re still a concerned fan regardless and shouldn’t be ignored, if anything they should be listen to more then “omg good work” because they’re providing useful information to 343i so they can help make things better, even if they don’t explain why the amount in which the same hatred is expressed will prompt 343i to investigate and find the issues.

please, lets not start the “playing the game for 30 mins > hours upon hours of gameplay footage” argument, its really obvious on which provides the most information, the footage, its watching how the game plays from first person perspective and to analyze such footage is practically the same as analyzing how you play and watching whats going on for problems while actually playing the game, except, you have hours to go through instead of a couple of games, those hours provide a wealth more of information then playing a couple of games.

its also extremely ignorant to judge a game off of a couple of games, simply because it isn’t enough time for you to go through and examine the game so you can understand it, you don’t get any strong or useful information, all you’re getting is “this feels good/bad” and that is it, there is nothing that can be taken from such information because there is no information there to be taken.

yes, its also ignorant to judge of off videos, how ever the videos do provide much more information and give you a much much better information on how things work so you can get a better grasp on things ready for when the game comes out, and, with some logical deduction thrown in is enough to provide some decent enough feedback that is worth listening to, a perfect example of this in action is the response to PV and 343i subsequently nerfing it hard after saying it wasn’t going to change much, ignoring such feedback is a very dangerous and harmful attitude because it prevents things from getting better.

if topics come up expressing problem people personally see in a game, instead of saying “it’ll be balanced, trust 343i”, “well don’t get the game” and all the other common defensive comments, just don’t say anything instead, only say something if you have something constructive to say and such comments aren’t constructive and just cause flame wars ruining and possible preventing important feedback and discussions from taking place.

> Example, I could recite the specifications of a fire alarm to you and the function of all its parts until you are very familiar with the technical jargon, but once you got your hands on the parts and so forth, you wouldn’t know your head from your -Yoink!-.

this makes no sense, specifications don’t telling you how to use something and how something works, it just tells you what it can do, such information we commonly used to make decisions on whether or not to purchase, if something is balanced or not and so on, so, i have no idea what you’re trying to say with this analogy…

its never useless, never ever, feedback in all shapes and form come from a true place, you have to look at the things they aren’t saying unless they’re providing a nice explanation as to why, if such feedback is just ignored then a potential problem will never go fixed which is a big problem for any business because it can lead to the end of said business.

the feedback given at this point can be investigated and effort put towards a TU in the future to help make the game even better, we can all agree that this isn’t useless in the slightest.

Yeah, its done! Start shipping the -Yoinks!-!

Halo 4 has gone gold? Nice.
I am more than grateful for all of the changes and advancements being made in Halo 4.Particularly the new Flood gameplay that was released; It looks… exceptional.
