Midnight releases used to be special. There were only a few a year. Now it seems like there are 2-3 per month. There used to be launch events, prizes, ect. It just seems like midnight releases have been so over done they have lost that special feeling to them. That could be just my opinion but surely other people remember the a different vibe when they went to the Halo 2 release in 2004.
It was the first time I went to go pick up a game for a release like this and everybody was so timid and just kept to themselves. Almost drained all of the excitement out of me having to stand in that line.
I took two of my kids to the H2 Midnite release. It was a good time. Played until 4AM.
My wife got up at 7am to start the day and found my 6 year old waited in bed until he heard me turn off the TV and then he sneaked in and played the game with the sound off until he was found out. I laughed so hard I could not ground him.
