Midnight Launch

I need some help but I don’t know how to put it. How do you do a midnight launch. Do you preorder the game and go to the store and wait on line and get the game or do you not pre order and just go to the store. I wanna go to the midnight release because every time get a game shipped to my house I always get it at the end of the day like 6:00pm and just can’t wait till the end of the day to play so can some one help me.

Pre-order it, then wait in line at midnight. You don’t HAVE to, but I believe a lot of stores prioritize those who pre-ordered.

The sooner your pay off the preorder in full, the better, that way, when you go to the midnight release, you don’t have to pay it off there, and hold up the line, you can just stand in line, get a close spot to the front of the line, and then pick up your copy when they start handing out the game, and go home, sleep, or play until you fall asleep.

Lol that one troll who holds up the line like “Problem? :D”
“Oh I can’t find my wallet.” *Searches my 12 pockets.

This shouldn’t matter if the store staff knows what they’re doing. Whenever I’ve attended midnight releases at my local GameStop they have always let people pay for their game prior to midnight. Then those people get in line and they hand out the games at 12:00. All you have to do is walk up, present your paid-in-full receipt, grab your game and go. For Halo: Reach, 100+ people were out of the store by 12:15.

For those wondering, they swipe your receipt with a highlighter when you receive your copy. That prevents people from getting back in line and trying to get a second one.

From a purely financial perspective, you’re better off putting the minimum amount down on the game now and then paying the rest off Nov. 4. This is because 1) inflation means that $95 in November will be worth less than $95 today (it will have less purchasing power) and 2) every dollar that remains in your pocket until Nov. 4 is another dollar you can earn interest on.
Sure, you won’t earn a lot of interest on $95 from now until then, but if you make practices like this a habit you’ll be that much better off in the long run.

Or pay it all off first, invest in some highlighter remover… Trololol

The first thing you should do is make sure your store is doing a midnight release event. While most stores do, there are some that don’t.

Second, get your pre-order in as soon as possible. You don’t have to pay off your full pre-order right away, but get the minimum payment down as soon as possible. This is especially important if you want a special or limited edition of the game in question.

Now, as for paying off the game, I would personally recommend making small payments between the time you put down your initial payment and the release date. One thing that’s great about pre-orders is that you can slowly pay off your game instead of putting down a huge deposit all at once.

Finally, you’ll often show up to your retailer around 10:00 or 11:00 (it depends on if you want to be first in line and wait outside longer, or if you’re willing to wait by coming later, if that makes sense). You make sure your game is paid off and then wait for midnight.

Now, when I do midnight releases, I usually get to the store around 10:00 or 9:45 pm. This gives me a spot at the front of the line (often the first spot). It may seem like it’s boring to wait all that time, but remember, everyone else who is attending is there because of a passion for games. You’ll rarely find yourself bored, and there’s always something to talk about, even if it’s not the game you’re picking up that night.

Yeah, I know, but still, the quicker, the better, Also, it’s better to have it paid off before then, so you know you have the money to pay it off.

Some day, they’ll find a new way to make it so people can only get one copy. that is, if people find a good way to remove the highlighter mark off the receipt, but I don’t think it can be done that quick/easy, plus you also have to worry about the employees remembering their faces.

Yeah, that’s the best way to do things, me, I’ll do that if I don’t get paid a lot, but some times, if I get a large paycheck, I’ll pay it off, so I don’t forget about it.

Better yet, I’ll show up in my ACUs, “Oh crap, I think I left my money in my vest… Wait, no here it is, nope, that’s my military ID, maybe in this pocket.”

That is if, I show up only wearing my ACUs, and not a jacket or any thing, If I had my jacket on, hehehehe, that’s 30 minutes of searching the many pockets.
