Midnight launch snacks?

Hey guys this is my first forum post so go easy :stuck_out_tongue:

Lot of grumpiness on the forums recently so I figured I would try and get a topic about game day snacks going. I’m probably going to stock up on Cheetos and game fuel and wind up in a diabetic coma on November 7th. What are some of your guys snacks that you’ll be stocking up on?

Water.

Cheetos and Mountain Dew? Hmmm, not exactly the healthiest combination. Water should do the trick for late night gaming.

I know they’re not the best for you, but I hardly ever have a reason to buy Cheetos so why not indulge once in a while.

First of all I don’t eat at night, as all food eaten before sleep turns mainly into fat that would otherwise be burned throughout the day. Secondly, I’ll be drinking water, that is for sure. Thirdly, I won’t even be at a midnight launch because a have a -Yoinking!- job!!

Hey that’s all you. If I were to eat cheetos and drink mountain dew I would probably get tired faster compared to if I just drink water lol. Everyone is different. Like you said, once in a while. If you were eating & drinking that everyday, I’d be a bit worried.

I might drink a single can of gamerfuel in honor of halo 4, along with some Taco Bell  but I am going to have to work out for an hour earlier on. A year ago I would have answered tons of Dr. Pepper with hot wings, but times have changed lol

well thats not true. your body burns calories 24/7. and depending on your activity throughout the day your body could be more than capable of efficiently burning whatever you ate before you slept.

ill drink water. like i do in every other situation.

night jobs suck. ill probably be working that night my self.

I’ll be having gamefuel for sure. As for food, if the nearby Chipotle isn’t closed when I get there I’ll probably pick up a burrito to eat in my car. That should hold me over for the night.

look up ‘broscience’. what you’re saying is totally untrue, food doesn’t turn to fat if you eat late of night. food turns to fat if you eat in excess, period. i’m a bodybuilder so i have spent countless hours researching nutrition and fitness articles and studies.

now about OPs topic, after halo 4 comes out there will be no time to eat for me haha.

I feel ya man, those hot wings burn twice as much coming out as they do going in.

The top statement is actually not much more than an urban myth, look it up bro. It’s actually false. Eating at night doesn’t do much in terms of fattening you, it’s more what in the hell you eat than when you eat. Your body will still burn the food for energy, but once more the fat is based solely on what is eaten. You’ll get fat, regardless if you over eat as well.

And, as for having a job I have friends who are full-time college students taking days off to go. Hell, I have an uncle taking a personal day from his full-time job to go.

You also have to mind many people who are buying the game are also more than likely college students or highschoolers.

But, on topic:

I will be bringing Game Fuel with me, and maybe some baked goodies. I’ll be sharing my Game Fuel with the first three guys to come to the release after me, and my buddies as well.

I’m even bringing my Laptop, as are my friends bringing theirs. We will be playing Halo: CE for the PC while we wait.

Other than that, I’ll be packing my Nintendo DS and Pokémanz.

I wish I could go to midnight release, but life shows up. So, I will be picking the game up in the late afternoon. I will be stocked up on water and welches fruit snacks, and will be ordering some chinese food (a ritual I have have since Halo 2 & 3.)

I will be playing the campaign in one play through, besides to eat, smoke cigarettes, and go to the bathroom.

I will feast on the flesh of noobs at a Gamestop Reach tournament while waiting for the doors to Halo 4 goodness to open.

water!

Also, I’ll confirm those who said that night eating doesn’t have to be bad. All the hype you read in the news is completely overblown. Fat/skinny is exercise/movement/daily activity, calorie intake, sleep habits, food choice, time of day; in that order.

Basically if you’re burning more calories than you intake you lose weight, if you’re ingesting more calories than you burn, you put on weight. All that other stuff, tricks, etc. can sway things by a tiny percentage.

Its better to eat six small meals than 2 large ones, but the difference in calories burned by digesting food isn’t all that large.

Simple math! It make sense. But late night, I’ll be drinking water, and maybe a light sandwich if I decide to stay up. But I have 4 weeks of vacation to burn at work, and I took that week off. So a late night isn’t all that necessary.

A couple cans of Coca Cola and random snacks should do for me.

I won’t going to the midnight release, but during the game I’ll be having Tostitoes Chips and something to drink. I don’t eat that much when I play games, and when I do it can’t be anything messy.

I don’t eat alot when I game due to the fact that I am very addicted to video games. I ain’t going far across the line though like when you are holding it in and you are thinking with sweat pouring down your forehead, “I just gotta’ finish this level and then I can use the bathroom. Oh wait, I can feel something wet.”

Anyways, I will probably either get Coca-Cola or gamer fuel. Probably 3 to 5 cans or bottles of 'em. Probably some “heart attack in a bowl” (poutine) and some Doritos (the orange bag.) I do this to celebrate the opening of the golden gates that lead to us gamers playing Halo 4.

Coffee, cigarettes, more coffee, and jolly ranchers.

As for at the midnight launch, they have Mt dew and pizza provided for the tournament

Gamefuel. Gamefuel everywhere.
Doritos will get my fingers all greased up, so that’s a no-go.
