Never the same for all people. Why not come up with a universal gamer midnight. It’d be easy for east coast people to say it is stupid, but for the best coast, that’s three hours, then hawaii. Then Asia, etc… Not asking for a time zone, but start a universal clock for countdown, that would be an app?? Then when it hits, Spartans across the world deploy…thoughts??
No, because what if someone wants to play the night it comes out but that time turns out to be like 4am? They couldn’t do that if they have work or school the next day. Plus, the servers would probably explode if everyone jumped on at the same time.
I don’t think the servers would like that idea. They would probably explode from all the activity and you’d have a bunch of angry customers ranting and raving that 343 can’t make a game that works at launch.
Just take one of the states in the middle like Arkansas and take a third of the state kick everyone out and dedicate it to 343 servers. Everybody wins.
anything like that costs money to set up…so yea… if it was a purely digital release it’d be easy, but organizing worldwide distribution of a physical product to be on sale at an arbitrary time. no, just no.

It just doesn’t work that way. Someone is always going to end up at like 4:00 AM and not be able to play. If you can wait over a year, you can wait a few more hours relative to others.
I live in UTC+8 and I will not wait 12-15 hours for the rest of the would to catch up.

Gamestop does a something like that now. Eastern launches at midnight, central launches at 11:00 pm, mountain at 10:00 pm and pacific at 9:00 pm. I’m so glad they decided to do this because now I have a couple more hours to install my games before it gets really late!
