You have many halo fans here in the Middle East. We love the game so much that many of us here bought an Xbox purely for Halo 5.
Unlike the other halo games this time it’s strictly dedicated servers and with no Middle East coverage. This means we are forced to play on European servers which causes us to have high ping and lag issues. What makes this even worst is that even custom games are on dedicated servers, which means even when we would like to play a local game we are going to lag. Custom games are used in the Middle East for competitive games and tournaments.
You have no idea how long we have been waiting for Halo 5 and for us to play under these terms really kills the game for us. On behalf of the Middle East community please get us some Middle East servers, P2P for custom games, or any other method that fixes the lag issues we have in custom games.
A good example was the release of Middle East servers in Dota, which lead to a huge spike in players joining the game. This will make a huge impact on us and more importantly for you as it will drastically increase the lifespan of Halo in our region. Not to mention the amount of money that will be spent on microtransactions.

Been a Halo player since November 15 2001. One of the biggest fans of this game. Since Halo 2 and the introduction of online multiplayer, we (in the Middle East) resort to custom games due to the lag issues we encounter when we play online and ranked games with people all over the world. Yes sometimes we get the not so laggy games, but thats just 1 in 5 games. Furthermore, usually people playing on the otherside will have connection problems. Thus, we (our Halo community) resort to custom games. With no dedicated servers in the Middle East, that will high affect us.
Please consider opening a ME dedicated server,

I only just bought an Xbox and the only game I’m interested in playing is Halo 5. I’ve been playing every Halo game since the original Halo and have not played any other games on Xbox. We’ve always had lag issues here and there and its a huge nuissance when you are trying to compete online. However, p2p made it so that every once in a while you were able to host a game and play lag-free. It was a real bummer to find out that p2p has been eliminated and there are no Middle East servers. This pretty much gaurentees lag at all times. I’m not sure I’ll continue to play the game if I always have lag, it’s just not fun when you’re trying to win games but always at a disadvantage.
Please dedicate a server to the Middle East. Your fan base here is huge.
I also have been Halo fan since Halo 1. Played every Halo and just purchased an Xbox one for Halo 5. Please support us. If dedicated server for middle east is not possible, atleast an option to have p2p for custom games.
Huge Halo Fan since combat evolved, and likewise - very sad to see the serious problems we’re having here in the Middle East. Personally haven’t even been able to make it into a single online game as matchmaking throws me out every time. Halo 5 specific, as Halo MCC, Battlefield, Fifa etc… all work ok (discounting the usual lag issues in Middle East). Please see what you can do to give us a decent server where we can enjoy the game to it’s full potential…
I’d been looking forward to Halo 5 since I first heard of its release but its proven to be a massive let down. It takes me on average 20 minutes to get into a multiplayer game and when I do 9 out of 10 games lag so badly that I’m unable to pick up weapons or throw grenades. Following a weekend of persistence I’ve now given up trying to get into further games.
Halo was the only reason I chose an Xbox One over a PS4; if this issue doesn’t get resolved soon then I’ll be replacing it with a PS4 and Black Ops 3 and I’m not the only person that’s considering doing this. Halo 5 could literally be responsible for the demise of Xbox in this entire region which will surely/eventually impact global popularity of the Xbox.
I been halo fans since original halo, and I bought my xbox one to play with friends online, which they are based in Saudi Arabia, and I’m based in Dubai | UAE, but I can’t play with them any online modes, such as co-op or arena modes, and when I do multiplayer connection test, the result shows me that I have 93 % packet loss, and I tried all the possible ways to fix this issue, but without any result…

Just like all the other guys who posted here, living in Dubai and I have the same issues as everyone else. Multiplayer games are pretty much unplayable because of latency, grenades never leave my hand, landing a shot doesn’t actually register any damage to the enemy, sometimes get jumpy movements. I also get the 93% packet loss error when I do the multiplayer test in the network settings.
I just wanted to bump this because I’d really like to see maybe a fix for this because its the whole reason why I bought the xbox one and halo 5.
Same here. Based in Dubai. 50M connection with 6ms latency with my ISP, but on Xbox servers latency is 280ms. Multiplayer becomes really difficult in these conditions.
This thread contains some of the most polite and concise complaints I’ve seen thus far on these forums. I hope your server issues are addressed - I take for granted how smooth everything has been for me in NE region of the U.S. I too, bought an Xbox ONE just to play Halo.

Is it just me or are you not able to get a game going on Halo 5 multiplayer?
Out of 50 tries of finding a game on slayer i might get 5, the rest of the time it says ‘unable to find a match’. That too on a Friday morning or Saturday evening which should be peak time here in Dubai.
I too live in Dubai. I’ve been a Halo fan and played since halo CE. I lived in Ireland and the gaming was beautiful there. All the Halo games except 5 rocked online. I am still confused as to why we pay an xbox live subscription in a region that doesn’t offer its own dedicated servers. Microsoft is based in Dubai ,so is most of their data servers for the region. I wish 343i and Microsoft would rectify this issue. Halo 5’s reliance on multiplayer made any sp or mp experience on xbox live pretty much dead. No split screen experience either.
