Mid-Game Joining?

I got a question regarding the ability to “join games in progress” feature we’ll supposedly see in Halo 4.

Will it be like most games or will we be able to choose?

I’d certainly hope it’s the latter. Having the option to cut down on your matchmaking time with the risk of joining a (most likely) losing game, may sometimes be a nice trade-off for when you only have a little time to play, but when you’re not in any hurry I would imagine that most people prefer to start games off with a 0 - 0 score.

I know that this is kind of specific information so it’s unlikely that anyone knows anything about it yet, but again, I certainly do hope that we have the option to just wait for a fresh party.

What can I say? It’s one of the many small things that makes Halo, Halo.

I’m assuming it’s an optional feature if a player would like to jump into a game as fast as possible.

The option to choose would be great.

There’s been no official word on it yet, but it would only make sense to be able to choose. Not everybody wants to join right in the middle/end of a game. I would much rather play a full game where I don’t start out at a disadvantage.

  1. This is not going to be available for all modes of gameplay.

  2. No official word yet on how this will work, but I doubt there will be a choice to “enter the match” or search for another.

Possibility of not having to go through the process of matchmaking after gameover?
It would just say game over, vote screen would pop-up without going back to menus (= while still in the game/on the map like in unreal tournament voting system) and after voting ends, we go immediately into the next game.
