Mid Game Joining is stupid.

Supposedly, when you ARE tossed into the middle of a game, its not a game about to be lost. Or one where you are the only one on a team. And yet, both have happened to me, many times. Nothing is more annoying to join a game, then immediately get “Defeat” flash onscreen. Anyone else have this problem happen, and if so, how often? Also, your thoughts on Midgame Joining.

Shameless Bump. I’d like some thoughts.

Sigh Bump again. I really do want to now other peoples thoughts on Mid Game Joining

Joining games in progress has completely -Yoinked!- up my win/loss ratio.

'Nuff said.

I don’t like it either. I hope they don’t have it when they release ranks. At the very least make the join times for games really strict.

ive never joined a game in progress that was a complete loss, or where winning was unrealistic.
call me lucky.

I have only joined 1 game so far that’s in progress, the blue team (my team) 200pts, red team 260pts…I guess you can only join them if players decide to quit mid-game or upon game start.
This will become really unpopular in games such as Flood and BTB, esp with Griffbal and oddball games…they (talking more to oddball) need a team that sticks together from start to finish, not one that is constantly shuffled from players dropping in and out.
343i have basically gone back to the old Halo CE style, don’t think that was a good move.

I don’t mind the JIP idea if it’s done properly. There appears to be no thresholds like how long the match has been going for. After 2-4 minutes in, it should just not let you join the match and same if the score is more than 50 points out for example.

Yeah I agree, no point in joining a game when there are only a few points left in it, or time that is only short.

99 % of mid joins i get are on loosing teams.

I’ll do a basic English task so that 343 may read this and understand:

People quit when getting owned = an empty spot

People don’t quit when they are winning, unless because they’re internet disconnects or mummy tells them -Yoink- = an empty spot

Chances of the first happening = 99%

Chances of the second happening =1%

Do the math. I have counted only once when I have joined and put on a winning team.
