Mics and Disappearing Weapons

Are 90% of the people that play this game shy or poor? Either you don’t like talking on your mic or you can’t afford one. Which one and should I make a poll?
I hardly ever go into a game with more than 1 or 2 people on mics if any at all.

Coming from games like BF3 and COD (not fond of it but a good example) where 90% of the people were mic’d up.

Not that it makes a difference gameplay wise but the quietness leads to boredom very fast, unless I’m playing with friends.

About the weapons. Why do power weapons disappear after dying?! This especially sucks on maps where they cycle. So you pick up a sniper, get killed and you won’t see it all game unless you get an ordinance drop.
Sometimes if I spawn close enough I can pick them back up but other times they outright disappear.
However primary/secondary weapons stick around much longer.

Everyone is your enemy in Halo 4. To be honest after listening to a few rage filled mic conversations when CTF was rotating I found keeping the mute button on was a best kept rule of thumb.

I don’t know about the guns vanishing so early but I do know It’s a real issue that’s pissed off a lot of players since the launch of the game.

Yeah I hear you on that. I do use the mute feature occasionally but it’s hard to find new people to play with besides those I know personally.
When I played BF and COD I’d often find myself meeting new people and growing my friendslist.

Since getting back on Halo that hasn’t been the case

What about the disappearing sound effects in game, it’s appearing a lot lately, like when you drive a ghost, no sound appears.

Patch this ASAP please.

I’ve had instances where there is no sound but I think it might be a correlation with lag.

Simple reason: lots of things on map tend to be a performance issue for video games (hence why guns have always vanished in every shooter). So because the delay is much shorter now we can easily assume that the performance issues were greater. Can it be fixed? In all likelihood no, it’s just the game.

English ain’t my first languange. I don’t feel like communicating with others in English because my accent is freaking terrible. I’m better at writing English in my opinion though.

Well then it deserves the Bargain Bin and obscurity.

As Ive said before and I will say again; No offence to those who play the game but I simply can’t be bothered listening to what you have to say. The players who talk to help the team with intel are few and far between, the masses of tards online far outways any usefulness that chat would have for my gaming enjoyment.

So I dont listen to any of you and dont talk to any of you, because “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”.

Because weapons don’t stay on the map too long? That’s just funny.

i have a mic and use it but its dishearting to try to callout and communite and no one replies, so after 3-4 games of this I unplug my mic, no use in talking to myself. halo 4 makes me crazy i don’t need me talking to myself to further this insanity.

Typically, i don,t use my mic because i have no interest in growing my friends list or being socially friendly to those i’m playing with. The times i do use it, i usually turn it off because there are way more annoying (intentional because they think they are funny??) kiddos than helpful teammates…

Yep especially when I just have to suicide to get a more ammo in BTB costing my team when there’s no ammo to scrounge off the battlefield. This game is crap my Dune loving Friend.

Utlimately I don’t think there’s any reason to use a mic in a public game. It’s not as if we really need to coordinate for Halo (“Get them!” is the highest level of strategy this game really needs.) Plus with matchmaking (versus something like a custom server browser) and players constantly being rotated in and out it’s not really practical to try to be an outgoing and social guy because the number of people you have to be social to is just too great. Think of it as the difference between a cafe and a city sidewalk. Yes you could try to play both the same way, but in the latter case you’re probably just going to get a lot of staring.

That is the stupidest way I’ve heard of anyone playing this game (I don’t say that to be at all offensive, I’m simply astonished.) I mean there’s a perk for that. If you can plow your way through a set of upgraded DMR and BR magazines and never in that time come close to any other player who’s just died or have a weapon drop you really do deserved the sad fate you’re left with.

Most of the time I am in some type of private friend chat while we play, occasionally I will give the mic a try with randoms but it seems like 99% of the time its either someone playing lame music way to loud or a what sounds like a 7 year old little boy chatting away like crazy and that hurts my ears.

parce que tout le monde parle la même langue…

(because everyone speaks the same language …)

I have a Mic, usually end up on teams with ppl cranking music, screaming in another language… or just don’t have one… it is rare ending up on a team with 2+ mics that communicate… I don’t think ppl know how helpful it is to communicate, specially in objective.

I found a team las tnight and we are all talking, sure made a differnce. But i do find its hard to come by, but as for BF3 i never really found it better for mics.

Gaufaw all you want. It’s still crap game, I don’t need to list the reasons since the forum is basically a revolving door of why it will be glaring you in the face when you step into GameStop and see it neatly placed book end up in the Bargain Bin.
