Microtransactions should fund new maps/armor sets

Im way more likely to spend money on season passes and cosmetic micro transactions if I know that some new maps and armor sets are cooking in the oven

I have a hard time justifying the purchase of digital skins/trinkets for the sake of more digital skins/trinkets

Dont make the mistake of assuming the player base will stick around 6 months from launch if there aren’t any new free maps/ armor sets being released on consistent- or close to consistent- intervals

Halo 5 had free maps and many live service games (which Halo Infinite’s monetization is based on) have free maps.

There is no reason to assume Halo Infinite will not also have free maps, so you’re in luck!

Were all the MP maps free in 5

For Halo 5? Yes. REQ Packs (loot boxes) were how Halo 5 was monetized.

Neat, I never played Halo 5 or plan to but if that is the case then that’s awesome

What about armor sets

Those were unlocked via the REQ Packs. You can read more info here, but just to be clear these are NOT returning for Halo Infinite. I don’t want to give the wrong impression.

Since they’re doing battle passes I somewhat doubt they’re going to do microtransactions, but that money made by that will absolutely partially to back into the game.

Thats exactly the point.
All of halo 5s maps were free. The only issue was they took a while and most were what they called “remixes” that is a map that is mostly a rework of an existing map and the game didn’t have great visual variety in the map pool, plus btb was all forge maps so I hope they rectify the frequency and variety for Infinite. I assume that’s been addressed internally seeing as it is free to play so player retention is arguably more important than game it was for prior entries.

I think your point is right, I too love armor and all the things that go with it, there will be paid and free ones in my opinion. But even if 343 doesn’t release it directly, players will stay in the game if it’s complete with smooth gameplay and a nice campaign.
