PUBG pretty much died outside of Asia for this reason, although their multiplayer isn’t F2P. But still, Halo is/was an outstanding game franchise that is now being ‘reduced’ (IMO) to F2P status. The art style is there to accomodate microtransactions. The Teen rating is there to make sure parents allow their young children to play the game and thus spend money. I just don’t think launching with available microtransactions before the game is finished is going to be a good look. It certainly wont put my vision for the future in the right place.
Personally I can even live without Co-Op and Forge, but if other Halo fan’s aren’t happy, I’m not happy. And if the game can launch with micro transactions good to go, but have a bunch of launch features missing when 343 had a whole decade to make this game consider me boycotting your -Yoinks!-.

As it stands currently, campaign co-op and forge are the only major features I’m aware of that really are missing.
In the free-to-play component that’s literally just forge, I would hardly call that an incomplete game.
It’s hard to argue you against you here since they have been reluctant to announce much related to the game, and frankly you’re right.
But I also don’t agree that one missing feature (that will be added back) in a free game means that both the game is incomplete and the devs shouldn’t try to make a profit off their product.

I’m expecting more than just this to be missing, it’s to be expected at this stage, I’ve already been disappointed more times than I’ve been happy about the game. For me the climax was the announcement trailer when we first saw Chiefs new armour… Playable Elites are gone, so that means no invasion mode yet. The rumoured amount of MP maps sounds pretty small too. You’ll have to excuse me for considering the game to be a total package from campaign all the way to multiplayer. If it was an honest return to what Halo fans really wanted I could forgive this but I’m just watching my favourite game and 20 years of memories become more of a cash grab than anything else, and it’s embarrassingly blatant.
Yep, all the manipulative and addictive systems will be in place for launch but not actual content. This is the problem with deciding which features are important via spreadsheet, you lose sight of the bigger picture.
If your only concern is what percentage of the player population utilizes a certain feature you are inevitably going to end up trending towards maximum return with a minimum possible effort. Of course that sounds perfectly reasonable until you realize that is how we have gotten to this “live service” MTX based gaming industry which is more focused on squeezing the customer rather than creating quality products with actual content.
Genuinely sad to see part of the Halo community readily playing devil’s advocate for the bean counters, especially when so much of it seems to be coming from a place of “but I want it nooowwww, forget anybody else”
Realizing that forge is technically in of the free to play part of this game makes the news a little less shocking, but man no coop on launch is a shot below the belt
MTX systems being in the game and done has no bearing on the content of the rest of the game… Anyone making this arguement is making a bad faith arguement by making nonsensical statements.

It most certainly does. It shows a priority in development. One where they care more about your wallet, than you actually enjoying the product.

Wow, I just found out Infinite has a Teen rating. That sucks.

you act like there is one priroty list for the entire game. Thats not how development works and dev not how jira ticket filing works (jira is a commonly used tool for engineering and software tickets).

The development process should be fairly straightforward for Halo at this stage though. It’s a fully fleshed out franchise so there are shortcuts to be taken everywhere and the content from past games should present a clear road map and template to build from. Nobody needs to spend too much time designing anything, nobody needs to think too much, all of the hard work has already been done that everything in these games should just fall into place.

not how development of any software works. Its never straight forward. It project will have its own goals, plans, issues etc. Have you ever worked in any form of project? I mean, ever notice how one highschool power point never functioned the same as the prior one when planning and making it? Ignorence at its finest. Its fine to be ignorent too by the way.

I never said it was easy, but they aren’t starting from scratch. I think you should find some better examples of ignorance if this is what you call it’s finest…

And? What do you suggest the cosmetic artists do for Forge and Co-op? The skill sets don’t overlap.

The boss is supposed to make sure all of these things are co-ordinated properly and the company is prepared and equipped to meet its deadlines. The game was initially supposed to release in 2020, and it’s still not finished a year later…
