Microtransaction pricing unjustified when comparing to other titles

Comparing to all shooters, Valorant is the only game that charges microtransactions for the prices 343 does atm. Valorant can, because:

  • really good anti cheat
  • costly tool for hitbox (minimizes dying around corners)
  • report system with fast support team (if compared to halo)
  • generous rewards by simply playing
  • stable game (infinite currently has a like +20% quitter rate because of crashes and its currently bad progression system)
  • fully polished game and sandbox day 1 with regular balance patches to switch up the meta in healthy ways (guns, melee, jump making you immune in certain situations)
  • meaningful ranking system mmr & elo, with equal lobbies
  • among alot of stuff not even necessary to continue listing now

in valorant you are rewarded for doing well unlike halo infinite.

The gymnastic conflation to justify your stance is pretty enjoyable to read, but ultimately far too convoluted.

But I got a simpler answer: players will buy cosmetics for the own reasons and there is no underlying baseline reason why.

Splitgate prices are similar to Halo Infinite prices as well, but I don’t see a detailed explanation as to why those are ok?

Costly tool for hitboxes = micro transactions

rich will get richer is what youre saying base line. one day some people cant even access their favorite game. oh wait scalpers already exist. and there’s first laws fighting morally wrong behaviour here.

i thought being socially inclusive is essential, sorry i guess. continue “enjoying”

The numbers will tell whether the prices are “justified” or not. If the mtx money isn’t coming in like 343 wants, that is the only time there will be changes to prices.

I was pretty clear with what I was saying. No need to misinterpret my statement.

Players are going to buy things that they wanna buy.

That’s jumping to conclusions

Scalping a free to play downloadable game?

Hmmmm

That sentence doesn’t even make sense lol

Free to play title, doesn’t lock anyone out of the core gameplay experience, all social interaction is included from text chat to voice chat, no monetary expenditure needed to enjoy all of the playlists and core multiplayer components of this title.

Seems pretty essential and all inclusive to me

I am, thank you

This is still the beta…

Is the money people spend in beta? Will 343 retroactively refund anyone’s purchases if changes are made to prices?

 its better then i thought it would be to be honest @xl_PeaNuT_x xl_PeaNuT_x ive been enjoying the game quite a bit and i couldent help but agree with your statements!

My point is, there was a complaint that the game isn’t polished. Until December 8th, that point isn’t even valid.

As far as money goes, I’m pretty sure there is some proverb about separating a fool from his money.

Personally I find it cheaper to get Halo Armor for my Lego Minifigures than it is for my digital Spartan for Matchmaking games, allow me to explain.

Within the Lego community there exists various Third party Companies that design, and sell weapons, helmets, armor, and various other accessories minifigures aka items The LEGO Group do not want make, with some in particular is items related to Halo, and the items available are far more cheaper than what 343 Industries, and Microsoft is offering on the store right now, and with the assumtion that you have a minifig to put the armor on.

Starting off this list is BrickForge with two sets of armor based off the Halo games, the Powered Assault Helmet, Visor, and Armor based off the Mark VI that has been worn by Master Cheif all three put together cost $4.10 USD, then you have their Shock Trooper Helmet, and Armor, which are based off of the armor used by ODST’s, and both of them cost $3.50 USD. Both of them together with the $7.60 USD are much cheaper than $15.00 to $20.00 asking price for cosmetics in the game’s store, they also have multiple accessory packs each costing that have weapons (skipping over the weapons for I’m just focusing on the armor) that offers a better value then what your getting with the current Halo Store system.

BrickForge is not the only company that sells armor for minifigs.

BrickWarriors is another such company that offers Halo esq armor, being the Galaxy Enforcer Helmet, and Armor which is based off the Warrior armor introduced in Halo 4, and together cost $3.55.

Clone Army Customs, while mostly focusing on Star Wars accessories has the Orbital Helmet, Visor, and Armor that when added together cost $3.50 and they also have a complete figure that comes with everything and an optional weapon that is $10.00 which is a bit more than just getting them separate, but its still a better value than what’s on the current Halo store.

Lastly we have BrickTactical’s Mark 5 Armor set, that comes with the helmet, visor, and armor should be obvious what’s its based off of which costs $4.00.

Now with all these Custom Lego accessories they’re more reasonably priced than what you would find on the Halo Infinite store, sure you would have to go on to each individual website, and order them cause there isn’t a way to find them in a physical store, but when your doing that 1. your supporting a small business, and 2. you can buy other accessories like weapons which depending on what else you are still getting a better value even factoring shipping, and handling.

Now while I think this is an unfair comparison, but I find it pathetic that you have to pay up to $20.00 for digital items, yet accessories I can get for physical Lego minifigs for reasonable costs.

I hope with this post I can at least show with the current Microtransactions featured in the Halo store is completely overpriced, and I would hope that both 343 Industries, and Microsoft are willing to make the necessary changes, in a way that doesn’t financially ripe us off, and I also hope they don’t go after these companies for making said accessories.
