Im not sure if this is a leak or not but in the last 2 days it seems Microsoft has bought the sites for Halo 7 8 and 9.So does that mean 20 more years of Halo instead of 10? will it end up like final fantasy?,how do you feel about this?.For me I’m happy and unsure,I’d love to see more Halo’s done if done correctly,I don’t want it to end up like CoD or get stale. It could be done right if the next trilogy followed the Precursors. What do you guys think of this?.
They’re probably reserving the domains in case they ever do want to start a third trilogy.
Firstly, final fantasy is amazing. Secondly, source?
Did anyone really think Halo would stop after 6?
To everyone about to say it…
It’s not milking if:
- It’s good.
- 20 million fans are begging for it.
giggles uncomfortably
> Firstly, final fantasy is amazing. Secondly, source?
Not the best source but at least it’s one.
I agree that a third trillogy is pushing it a bit unless done right. I only hope that the Halo games have enough of a story to tell to last for three trillogies.
Then again they could just be reserving domains just in case anybody else tries to take them.

“halo Can, and ideally will, last 20 more years.”
And no, delaying the Precursors another 10 years would be terrible storytelling. I fully expect the Precursors to arrive in some form in Halo 4.
Heard about this yesterday. I really want Halo’s story to end on a giant note with Halo 6, I thought Halo 3 was that ending but there was more story to tell.
Come on MS, let Halo 6 send Halo out…with a bang

Well, for Halo 4 I expect the precursors to be like the forerunners of the original trilogy,we might see one or two but I don’t think we’ll fully explore them like we are with forerunners right now untill(if) the next trilogy.

Yeah sorry IGNorence can fairly well be getting your hopes up. trearch bought the domain name awhile back for alphawolf.com or something that had wolf in it. Many people thought thats what black ops 2 would be called but nope. They bought it so people couldn’t pretend to be the official site for said game. The same thing can be applied here. Never ever trust IGN. they always mix -Yoink- up. As a “game informer” company they do a -Yoink- job at it.

Its still something,IGN isn’t that bad all the time.Im not getting my hopes up but it could very well happen as someone above has also pointed out.Skyrim situation, bethesda bought the dawngaurd and hearthfire name, both later came out as DLC.

Yup. This is actually a pretty common thing in the “Biz”. They buy it now with no concrete plans to make those games, so if they do decide latter to make them, they already have the domains.

They have already gotten things wrong with halo 4. They got to play BLOPS2 said quick scoping was out yet it is seen in MP trailer and MP matches. Those are just a few in a long list of IGNorences mishaps. Bethesda is a good quality small company. Microsoft is a large and less then loyal coorperation. You can’t expect them to do the same thing. It is a possibility and you can hope if you want. But its far more likely to just assume they are buying the domain names so people cannot pretend and spread rumors.

Considering they want it to last another 20 years also is even more proof it could happen.Bethesda is just as bad as microsoft, but anyway, don’t just write it off as not real or wont happen.
I was under the impression that they registered those domains just so nobody else would, and not because they’re planning to do a third trilogy.

How exactly can you prove that they “want” to? Its been explained in past posts. they buy domains to stop fakers, and IF being key here if they want to start it up again they already can. That DOES NOT mean its going to happen or they “want” too. please. Also explain how bethesda is anywhere near as bad as Microsoft. harthfire was 5$. If microsoft was in charge of something as amazing as that they would’ve made it 15$ atleast. I am going to right it off because i used to trust IGN many many years ago. After constant dissapointment and unjust reviews to games i’m not going to trust crap from them considering i don’t know they are still getting there -Yoink- wrong.

Well, Halo is pretty much their flagship series. I mean, I got an Xbox just for the sake of playing Halo 2, and I got a 360 just to play Halo 3.
The Xbox might as well be called the “Halo Machine”.
