Yeah, I saw that. It was very interesting. I’m still trying to figure out where they’d have time for it, but still, it’s exciting to think that the head honchos have plans for it.
Very interesting, so there is hope for a new game.
On the other hand, if he is not lying and he is just “thinking about it”, development of Halo Wars 2 is nowhere near concrete, so we won’t see it anytime soon.
So if you want to put it that way, they somehow confirmed that we will see Halo Wars 2, if ever, in the year 2016 the earliest.
Because, to sum it up, although Halo Wars 2 is not off the table completely, it is not in the pipeline yet, which means that even if they would start the concrete decision-making process right now, and even if the decision to make the game would be positive, until they find a studio to make it and then they actually make the game, I would assume that the final product would come out in 2 years from now the earliest. And I even think two years are an underestimation.
So all we can do is wait, if they announce the development of Halo Wars 2 within the next few years.
What we know for now, is that it will not be announced anytime soon, unfortunately.
Yeah, I wouldn’t expect it anytime soon, but this is the first time (to my knowledge) that anyone’s mentioned the game in a long time. And Yesterday I found this posted on IGN as well:
They didn’t really give any details but maybe we’ll see Halo games on PC again. Who knows, maybe even Halo Wars 2 or a porting of the first one! I’d like to see people make new maps if possible and bring me back to the game.
Its nice to know that Halo wars has never really gone away, as long as it’s in the back of the producers mind somewhere then I know there will be a pretty good chance for a sequel.

343i is busy on making Halo 5 so i don’t expect to see anything about Halo Wars 2 for a while, i love this game and hopefully it will be well known again because right now, i see just over 1000 people on whenever i go on and it takes ages to find matches and they usually end in about 5 minutes from people rushing. It isn’t fun

Actually, more or less the opposite is true.
As Ensemble already knew, that their studio would be closed down after finishing Halo Wars, they also knew that if there ever was a Halo Wars 2, it would certainly not be made by them.
While the title of the achievement may also in addition express the vague hope of the developers for a sequel of this great game, the main meaning of this achievement is a hint to Halo Wars being Ensembles last game.
