Alright let me do a mini rant here. I’ve been playing halo for about a decade with my father. Sitting on the couch Sunday morning shooting up some elites. The good old days. Then halo 5: Guardians comes out, and we see “no split screen”. We are devastated. We play through it on our own. That’s one problem in the Microsoft halo management.
the second is that they seem to be -Yoink- around more than anything. Bungee created a beautiful storyline with beautiful characters and a beautiful plot. We connected to the chief, to Cortana, to Johnson, to Keyes, to the arbiter. What’s 343 done? In their first solo game, they killed the secondary protagonist: Cortana. In their second solo game, they brought her back as the -Yoinking!- villain! They removed split screen, they made us wait for infection, forge, and other game types. Bungee created a magnificent storyline. 343 has created -Yoinking!- French fry pistols. If they don’t pull their -Yoink- together in halo 6, I’m going to need out of this once great franchise. #makehalogreatagain #burnthereed
343 are doing phenomenal work. Halo 5 is great. Split screen will return in Halo 6. The story will improve based on Halo 5 feedback. #Halo4Life
I think its funny how people forget to realize that a lot of former Bungie employees moved to 343 Industries to stick with the franchise.
Regardless, Master Chief and Cortana’s story line are coming to a end. (Believe me I don’t like saying it just as much as the next person.) The voice actors are getting old, and there isn’t much to continue on at this point since Earth was saved and the covenant are at peace for the most part. On the Halo 3 disc released by former franchise owner, Bungie, it was said to be the final piece of the puzzle for master chief’s story. Except 343 Industries knew how big the master chief fan base was (including yourself.) So rather then write him off into history immediately they are trying to continue the Chief’s story all the while writing their own. You shouldn’t take it out on 343 Industries as they at least gave us something instead of nothing. A lot of people really enjoy Halo 5 for what it is and we should be more optimistic for what lies ahead.

P.S The whole point of skins in game as well as REQ packs is for the company to make money to pay for development for the next game in the franchise and pay its developers. No shame in knowing that.
I enjoy Halo 5’s gameplay and Forge, but it could have been managed better.
While Bungie did a fantastic job, 343 has done a pretty good job too
Lack of splitscreen was a result of technological limitations due to the rehauled engine glitching during testing. I don’t know about you, but sacrificing a feature for a functional game is something I wouldn’t mind. Also, I didn’t really connect to any of Bungie’s characters. Under Bungie’s story direction, Chief had almost no personality aside from being a loyal soldier who made the occasional one-liner. Johnson and the Arbiter, sure, maybe a bit. But Jacob and Miranda Keyes did nothing for me. They were just kind of the necessary commander character. In their first solo game, 343 managed to give Chief more character development in one game than Bungie did in three. In my opinion, what 343 did with Cortana in Halo 4 was a great reason to explore Chief’s humanity. However, 343 should have kept Cortana dead and continued with what they had started in Halo 4 for Halo 5’s story. And when you say 343 created the French fry pistol, remember that Bungie made the Grunt Birthday Party Skull, armor effects like Heart Attack and Pestilence, and other bizarre things.

343 actually never had many former Bungie members.
I may have let your topic slide, even moving it out of the Guardian forums, but personal attacks against people are condoned on Waypoint.
If you wish to discuss split screen more, you can do so here: Official Split-Screen Thread

This is a myth, barely any Bungie staff transitioned and even less remain at 343 today
