MICROSOFT MAKES UP Xbox Live Activity Charts?

Does MICROSOFT make up Xbox Live Activity Charts? Or no?

Pretty sure they have ways to monitor and track activity.

There are people who say they just make up the charts so they can drive sales. I don’t believe that. But I just want to know.

Only way to know for sure is to ask them directly however not sure you’ll get an answer.

But I’m pretty sure they do NOT make up stuff.

I think those people wear there tin foil hats a bit too tightly.

If they were making it up, they would probably still answer with a simple no, so there games and company won’t look bad.

So then really, you’re asking a question that you know there’s no answer to so…why ask it?

Well I didn’t mean it like that. I just wanted to see if people THOUGHT it was made up, or real. I wasn’t asking for the truth.

I don’t think Microsoft would gain anything from making stuff up.

Boost sales.

Looking at Halo 4’s daily population chart, I wonder whether it is even possible to have a game that is on 2nd place with a population that can hardly even keep 100.000 players.

I don’t think they would make them up, but I do think that big corporations promoting big titles compensate critics for positive reviews. Not just the video game industry but movies, restaurants, novels, automotive, etc…

If you believe they make those charts up, im willing to bet you believe JFK was an inside job too

Really? Cause I know I wouldn’t look a activity charts if I want to buy a game.

The numbers, Mason, what do they mean!?

/joke

Well technically, that’s a bad way to judge populations. Since it doesn’t show everybody online, the game and HaloCharts only show War Games: Matchmaking current population at this very second (NOT TOTAL POPULATION FOR THE ENTIRE GAME), and you can’t see the Unique Users within 24 hours. And last night War Games Matchmaking population and Spartan Ops Matchmaking population put together made the population over 100k at the same time, and that was yesterday. The game gets millions a day.

… It was aliens…

I don’t think it’s made up, but it’s a possibility.

Makes sense.

Interesting. You make a good point. However, the developers are also able to track the stats on their own. XBL has been around a while now and if there was ever any sort of inconsistency between the numbers MS releases and what a developer is able to see, you would think someone would have blown the whistle by now.
