I’m 100% certain Halo 5 and 6 will be on the next gen. console. We have pushed the 360 to it’s limits.
I’d be VERY surprised to find out that Halo 5 isn’t on the next gen Xbox.
Doesn’t really surprise me in the slightest when Durango is supposed to come out in 2013 or at least 2014 and Halo 5 in 2014 or 2015. Would’ve been foolish to publish Halo 5 only on outdated hardware when your next generation hardware is already out.
I think we’ll see Halo 5 appear on both 360 and next generation xbox.

Halo 5 is next Gen, it wouldn’t make sense for them to have them both on an xbox console.

While I understand the argument for Halo 5 selling only on next-gen xbox it fades when compared to the customer base of the xbox 360.
Those that would up-take the new console will anyway but just having Halo 5 available for next-gen. They want the best game available and will pay the premium first release hardware/software to obtain it.
However if you flip the coin and look at all those that won’t buy a new console why would you alienate that massive % of approx. 70million xbox 360 owners? It makes sense to have Halo 5 available for both 360 and next-gen.

Non 360 support = small % of new console purchasers from the 70million customer base. Take even 5% and you only have 3.5million.

With next-gen AND 360 support = small % new console purchases (3.5million) plus just a game purchase for the remaining 95% (66.5million).
You can see why it cannot be ignored to support both platforms.
How do you sell a new console? Release one of (if not the) best selling game series of all time on it. Don’t separate your audience. Pull in people who may have been on the fence about a new console by giving them a franchise they are willing to spend on.

Halo 5 will not be on Xbox 360. That is one of the reason’s this generation of console’s did so bad, from my understanding, with last gen when they first came out. Multiple titles being developed for the 360 and Original Xbox).
Sony eventually started to make individual IP’s for the PS2 still even when the Ps3 was out but it still divided the fanbase.
A lot of gamers might be “casual” and therefore do not care about owning the latest console.
“So why buy a $500 console and a $60 game when I can buy the same game for $50 for a console I already own?”
Halo 3 is why I bit the bullet and bought an Xbox360.

I couldn’t agree more. originally, I bought a 360 for Halo only. Halo is the reason I own an Xbox. It would be a good decision to release H5 on a next gen console.
Halo 5 will most likely be on the next-gen console. It’d be stupid for them not to do it, especially with the hardware restrictions of the 360. There are rumours that they might release a Halo game next year or the year after, but if they did, it’ll most likely be a spin-off, like ODST.
halo 5 will most definitely be on the next gen microsoft console. chances are, they will time the release of both to give the console an extra huge selling point

You have a good point, sir. I’d get the next Xbox, just for Halo 5. I’ll probably get the Halo 5 console. Nice avatar by the way…creepy.

Halo is the only reason all of my friends and everyone I’ve ever known with an Xbox 360, has an Xbox 360.
Halo 5 needs to launch alongside the next Xbox but I hope Halo 5 isn’t released until another three years, assuming Halo 4 was successful like Halo 3.
