- Mirco-transactions are poison and you’re ignorant if you think otherwise. Content should already be in the game and only attainable through honest gameplay. It should should also no be locked behind RNG. There is no sense of earning anything. You either got lucky or throw money at Bungie and Microsoft like a junkie looking for the good stuff he promised by a dealer but was never delivered. - The story is so weak, easily the weakest Halo yet. Halo lasted so long because it told such amazing stories and left you wanting more and more. Gone are the days of the awe inspiring story, full of mystery, action, doom and glory that was the first Halo games. Now it’s just re-hashed typical shooter -Yoink-. All action no guts. There were so many missed opportunities in this game to deepen the story and make it meaningful and impactful. Blue team, character introductions, the rivalry and tension between Chief and Locke (That was supposed to be there but never came to be), more interesting enemies, details as to why Cortana is so different than the one we know and love (I can only assume it was because the dominant and good personality we are used too in Halo: CE - 4 that died at the end of Halo 4 and her corrupt personalities ended up at the domain. But that’s only a theory as it’s never stated or looked into), playing more as Blue Team who should have been the main characters as in cannon they are much more interesting. Locke has no individuality, he’s just an ONI puppet, Buck would have made a much better leader and was the only on Fireteam Osiris of any interest. The Locke Vs. Chief fist fight was a joke and Chief would have wiped the floor with him, not being a fanboy, it was actually hinted in the game. That’s why Locked made that armor lock system. (Another missed plot point) And The Warden Eternal is cool in theory but lame in practice. The so many dead end plot points and missed chances. - You may like it, you may not but the armor and emblem customization is now so limited. Only the head and body are changeable now? And the emblems, something that has been there since Halo 2 are now restricted as well? Take things away and sell it back to us half complete and tell us it’s more. Seems to work every time these days, the new generation of Gamers is totally blind to these tactics. And don’t even get me started on the actual designs this time around, hideous to no end. What on earth were you thinking 343? And if you’re one of those people who actually likes the armor in Halo 5? Not all of have the same taste, but this has to be the weakest armor yet. Of the hundreds of helmets and body pieces I like maybe two or three, where as in Halo: Reach for example I only disliked one or two. Complete oposite end of the scale. You can tell yourself what you want but this is the weakest Halo yet. I will not be buying Halo 6, I have no interest at all. Been a Halo fan since Halo: CE, all the way until Reach. 343, you ruined a good thing. You’re going down a path I cannot follow. RIP Halo.

so what, dont like it, dont pay for it. it has no effect on gameplay and its very minor
-
i really liked this story, one of the best i have played out of the halo series, i wish i could have played as the MC a little more but it was still really good but you know opinions opinions
-
i only want to be an elite ;_; i dont care if my head has a bigger hitbox
Only your Opinion and its not an fact. And its for sure not the weakest Halo if you look objectively…
But the best Part in your “critique” is how you said you can’t follow. Move on, play Destiny which is made by your beloved Bungie, and let us play Halo 5 who actually care about the Halo series and see how much 343i did for the series. With Halo 5 343i have proven their worth to me, and with Destiny Bungie have proven, that they are nothing like back than. 343i gets more classic Bungie even though they take a different path to approach Halo.
Story is actually very deep when you think about it especially with that legendary ending and with Cortana turning out the be the enemy i was on edge of my seat. Im ok with the cliffhanger

- I don’t think you understand the implications of what this does to the industry as a whole.
- It’s the weakest Halo story since Reach, more so than Reach.
- Elite’s would have been great considering they are supposed to be a major ally. Easily could have been done.

Destiny was boring and a major let down for sure, I bought the taken king hoping they would fix what they did wrong but they got more greedy. They have micro-transactions now too, they have made they game pointless without the new DLC. I was hoping Halo would be different and bring back the glory days of gaming but now it’s just following the pack. Ripping Gamers of and making them think it’s more.

If you think that story was deep you haven’t played a game with a real story. That was generic and rushed, just like Halo 4. I mentally constructed the plot pretty much the instant Cortana contacted the chief. I wasn’t impressed at all. The legendary ending was kind of cool but it was inevitable if you payed attention to the generic story. It was Cortana’s obvious move as soon as she started spewing her speeches. If you want a Deep Halo try the first three, specifically flood related content. You want a deep Game? Play the Mass Effect series. You want a deep story? Read an adult science fiction or fantasy novel.
As long as the micro-transactions don’t get worse than this it’ll be okay. If you don’t like 'em, don’t buy 'em is all I have to say.

You probably shouldn’t have bought Halo 5 either.
Now, 343 thinks you’re another person who agreed with their direction. You see, if Halo 5 sells the most, they are obliged to think they’re doing things right.
Sure, population will also be a factor, but it’s not everything.
You should’ve started your boycott with Halo 5. By buying Halo 5, you’re also saying that Halo 4 and MCC didn’t bother you as much as they should’ve.
How are 343 to learn when people with complaints like yours, which were about things we knew before release, are still buying the game?

I didn’t buy Halo 5, played it at a friends place.

Excellent. I’m in the same boat as you then.
Yeah “Bungie and Microsoft” for sure.
id best describe the story as telling a legit funny adult joke to a 12 year old. The kid then, of course not getting the punch line, calling the joke dumb.

Why have you decided to post a “Imma hate on H5” thread on waypoint?
I completely agree. I have been a PC gamer since the launch of the Xbox One. I was lured to purchase this piece of junk system and game bundle with all the hype for Halo 5. The multiplayer is lame. I mainly wanted to play this game in hopes of having the fun custom games I remembered in Halo 3 and Reach. But since they didn’t even ship it with Forge mode I can’t even try it. The only drive I have to play multiplayer is the hope that I’ll get something pretty out of a REQ pack, then I get the lovely surprise of some hideous monstrosity of a helmet or pre-made emblem. I literally feel like they deliberately made ugly armor just so they could have common sets. Warzone is dreadful and so is Arena right now. Don’t even get me started on single player. Dear god, It was so overhyped… Easily the biggest disappointment of a game since Brink. All large studios just ship half -Yoinked!- games now. If anyone wants to play a good game go play SOMA on steam.
If you’re criticizing anything other than game play then you’re wasting everyone’s time because none of this other stuff is even remotely important.
I only really agree with you in regards to the micro transactions, but if dlc maps are free now, then so be it.
I enjoyed the story much more than I did H4, but then again I’m one of the few who thought Reach had the best story.
I have no issues with only being able to change the your helmet and body armor, however, I would of liked to see unique pieces available to feats completed in campaign (or achievement related).

Puts forth an argument that Micro-transactions are poison, and the classic that if you disagree you have a negative trait, while there’s not a single trace of actual argumentation for that argument.

Yet again, gets an answer towards his post, tells the one disagreeing that it’s possible he doesn’t understand the implications and then goes not a single step further explaining anything.
I can do the same too you know:
Micro-transactions are quite a good solution to many problems, if you do not see this, “insert negative comment about your mental health / physical condition / lack of education etc.”
addiction to micro transaction is like a gambling habit with minors involved

Can’t you see he’s an enlightened neck beard? There is no countering him!
spacer its no use posting this on the forums here its just filled with the fanboys who blindly protect mother 343, and its funny calling others fanboys since I played halo when it first came out and was 1 of the people who played 4 player split screen with my cousins. But these new generation gamers you know the ones who weren’t even born when we were playing halo 1 are now the people taking over the game and ruining classics.
