Micro transactions in Halo 5?

Considering the increasing popularity of Day 1 micro transactions these days, it would come as no surprise if 343 decided to implement them. By micro transactions I mean paying $4.99 for various cosmetic effects. I understand why people would want to buy these things, but actually earning them in game is much more rewarding. Who remembers how fun it was trying to get the Recon helmet in H3, or grinding for hours to get inclement weather in Reach? It actually made items worth having and gave them a higher value. Now a days you pay 5 bucks to get exclusive helmets in games like COD. For the sake of gaming, I sincerely hope 343 does not implement micro transactions in Halo 5.

I wouldn’t want them in at launch.

I’d be fine with them adding in DLC personalisation packs post-launch like CoD does though.

none of ANY kind…

I hope it stays at 100% no.

Naw man, keep Halo microtransaction free. Halo Online can have it.

Halo 4 may have not been the best game, but it did do the one thing almost every other game that year didn’t, and that was resist micro transactions. I hope halo 5 continues that.

Hell no.

The industry needs to grow; many developers/publishers are following this business model.
Y’all are afraid of change. It won’t affect you, if it’s just cosmetic DLC. No one’s putting a gun to your head.

Give them an inch they take a mile…
it will start with camos and than they will tie weapons into it and other stuff that should be in game. Letting microtransactions keep going as is is hurting the industry

Micro-transactions are one of the many cancers plaguing modern gaming, please keep it as far away from Halo as possible.

It’s already in Halo Online.
It has begun.

Give them one inch, and they will take it a mile.
First it will be Russia as F2P, then it will be world-wide on a full retail Halo game.

I hate mirotransactions… this said if it’s ONLY for cosmetic things, then I don’t really care. It doesn’t affect game play at all. How is that any different then MS charging for things for your avatar person?? you don’t have to buy them

Armour DLC would be as far as I would go in terms of micro transactions, anything else would damage the franchise for me.

There is no reason for microtransactions in Halo 5. In about 6 months, when the maps become stale, they will allow in forge maps that people make, which will be great, but within a year, they will make new maps, and request us to pay them for them. I’ll be fine with that. Now, if you think that allowing people to buy helmets and such is a good idea, instead of you EARNING them, then you really should play a different game. Halo has always been about earning what you get. I think it should stay that way.

No. God no. Those idiotic armor effects in Reach were bad enough in how they clashed with the art style of the rest of the game, we don’t need another TF2 on our hands. And that’s assuming a best case scenario that it would be limited to cosmetics.

Things that small should be free.

If cd projekt red can do it, every dev can do it.

Even spartan strike doesn’t have microtransactions so i highly doubt H5 will use them either.
