The current method of earning req points is time based, and I believe that this system has its faults. Sure, it doesn’t take much time to code to give x amount of points for x amount of time, but I feel that this system discourages players. Warzone should grant the points based on completion of the game, self-preformance, victory and a core destruction bonus. Some companies prolong their farming due to the time requirement for maximum req points. This should be fixed by adding a core destruction bonus; the payout being bigger the faster the other team destroys the core. Players should receive small bonuses for getting medals, killing bosses and performing well. It’s discouraging to players if they’re on top of the leaderboard, but a teammate who did consiberably less is given the same amount of req points, despite the top player going after objectives, killing players or bosses. This would remedy a few problems with warzone. Arena suffers from a lack of req points which makes people who want to complete their req collection go to warzone. Incorporating a different system that rewards players for playing well, completing the object in warzone or arena would create a healthy mood for players and earning req points on their skills and accomplishments rather than having to wait a certain amount of time.
If people destroyed the Core within a minute every game of Warzone, they’d have a ludicrous amount of REQ points to spend. And the enemy team would get zilch. It’s called “balancing,” and it prevents the rich from getting richer and the poor from getting poorer.
I’m glad REQ enthusiasts go to Warzone.
Keeps the players who want to play Halo for Halo in Arena.
I don’t play Halo for REQs. They’re nice, but not my focus.

We would have company fireteams steamrolling the game in 5 mins to get reqs. That would be worse than the farming issue.

At least it would be over quickly.
Honestly I thought I would like the req system but I say get rid of it completely. Having to “unlock” armors and skins behind that is completely ludicrous.
The sooner everyone realizes the REQ system is in no way related to the Halo we all love and is just 343’s exploitation of the fans of the series, the sooner you will all be able to enjoy this game. Spending so much time worried about getting all the REQ items is nonsense. But 343 must know their fans because ppl do spend real life money for these cosmetic items…
I would like it to at least be even. When I play a 15 min BTB match I do not get the same amount of Req Points as a 5 min WA match.

You spend real life money on digital gaming, no difference if you ask me. Neither does anything helpful to our lives, but both can give a sense of entertainment.
The he halo I loved/love wasn’t because there were no microTs either, it was simply cuz I loved how it played, which I still get today, reqs have no effect on that.

Very true…
Actually it’s gametype, then time which is calculated for each gamemode, you actually earn more reqs per hour the more games you finish(especially warzone assault, if the game last 6 minutes you get a 1000, if it lasts 16 you get 1250, real big deal there.)

I prefer steamrolling to farming. Plus people are less likely to do it, and it speaks of how unbalanced the game is. Because theoretically the perfect game(can’t be achieved), you would have around a 50%win rate and most(90%) would be close games.
Req’s are here to stay. GTA generate 1/2 billion in microtransactions. This is the model all gaming companies want to emulate. There is also a mention of H5 mt revenue in the article.
Many don’t like the req system, but what other ‘quick’ method of garnering points would you have players choose? How else are you supposed to ‘unlock’ the customization items you’re looking for? They don’t hand out Legendary/Mythic armors as any kind of actual achievement, save Achilles, which they locked behind somewhat insane requirements that depend on many full companies working together but leaves many of the hard playing small groups/lone wolves in the cold. Wrath Armor, How can one acquire that w/o the vaunted req system? I farm req points in WZ, because they trickle them out in spoonfuls in arena, even though I enjoy my time there more.
yea i just hate that i get pretty much the same xp and rp no matter how i do. 50kills 4deaths = afking all game. so why bother
It could use a few improvements, but overall I agree. I just wish Arena got a boost and everything would be right with the world.
All that needs to be done is boost the amount of REQ points from Arena, and keep the base amount of points for all, just give slight bonuses for medals. The better the medal, the more points.
I dont like that armors and stuff are locked away behind the REQ system.
They should’ve just had it so you could either buy the armor/emblem/weapon skin you want for a bunch of points, or spend the same amount and get a pack that would let you have a chance at multiple things (like the current system).
Leave REQ stuff for Warzone in packs.
Only purely cosmetic items could be bought with points separately.
It’s balanced this way,no need to change it.
