hello, the halo 4 servers are the issue here, YOU HAVE NOT BEEN RESET.
It is simply a server side glitch that will probably sorted in a few hours. just carry on playing 
all XP earned is still earned and you will continue to rank up as normal.

I’m getting real tired of the servers glitching out. I’m starting to think that 343 is using ubisoft’s servers lol anyone else play during the launch of future soldier? Same crap is happening with H4 now.

all unlocks are on the same server, you might not be able to pick a new one when youre done if the servers arent back up.
To the OP I understand its a server glitch but just to let you know I’ve played about 5 games since I showed up as a SR1 and I haven’t earned a single experience point
This has been happening to me a lot. I just dashboard and load up Halo 4 again and It’s fixed.
The only recourse I had for this glitch was to completely restart my xbox after every match; doing so would restore my rank, but it would reset my loadouts (no armor ability, tactical package, or support upgrade) and my rank would go back to SR-1 after one match. This is severely frustrating, as I didn’t spend money on a game and DLC just to risk damaging my xbox by having to constantly turn it off and on. 343 has really got to get this issue resolved: and soon.
I thought bsangel said XP earned while the servers are down will not carry over to your actual rank progress?
She recommended restarting the game often to see if it’s resolved when this happens.
In Halo 4, I played a campaign level and 1 (technically 2, but lagged out) games of multiplayer, but at 10:07 my loadouts lost all the upgrades and my SR points are 2. It says all are unlocked, even though it prompts me to spend points on it. My armor, campaign, and skins are all there. I had just downloaded the (as of 8/21/13) title update and I downloaded Champions DLC bundle. I have tried restarting and there is no change. It is not a server issue, because only my SR-point required upgrades aren’t showing up. Rank, Armor, skinned weapons, etc. are all still there.

I would suggest making a new topic, or finding another, less older one, to tell of your problem.
