So many babies saying stuff like “I keep missing headshots when I have them at no shields, this game is broken.”
No, you’re just strafing & getting easy body shots, and when it comes time to go for the final headshot, you get too fancy & stop strafing & start using the right analog stick to aim too much. I had the same problem early on, you just have to keep doing what you were doing before when you were hitting the body shots.
Also, adjust your aim acceleration & sensitivity to find a combo that works well for you. A lot of the people complaining haven’t even tweaked theirs to their playstyle, they just use default over and over and wonder why they can’t hit anything.
If the aiming was broken, there would be a huge outcry from pro players because they’d be held at the same disadvantage as others, and the skill gap would be close to nonexistent. Interestingly, the vast majority of people complaining about this are just terrible at the game. Wonder why?

Complaining about complainers doesn’t help anything.

Complaining is both acceptable and necessary if you identify a problem & offer logical solutions.

That’s funny, because there was a bug that affected people’s abilities to aim that 343 admitted to and apparently fixed with the Battle of Shadow and Light update. For all we know there may be lingering problems. Maybe the players think they are hitting something, but aren’t. Don’t know, but I’ve played games of SWAT where I swear I hit an enemy in their head and they don’t die. There could be plenty of reasons for player complaints. You calling them crybabies isn’t necessary and only adds to the negative crap that gets in the way of civil discourse on these forums. But I assume you know that and did it anyway.

Also the bigger the TV you are playing on, the harder it is to hit your target. I don’t know why, but playing on a small to medium size TV makes aiming much easier.

So let’s get this straight

343i admits and tells us they changed the aiming mechanic from the beta to what we have now
343i puts out an update in battle of noctus to fix the slow diagonal aim bug that plagued users
343i then releases advanced controller options in game to offset their new aiming
mechanic

and people are still saying that people who complain about the aiming are crybabies and it’s all in your head?!?!?!?

Jesus H Christ man…

i -Yoinking!- give up with these staunch 344i defenders

The issue is your solution wasn’t logical.

“adjust your aim acceleration & sensitivity to find a combo that works well for you. A lot of the people complaining haven’t even tweaked theirs to their playstyle”
-I’ve tried. Hundreds of hours since the “aiming fix” tweaking my settings trying to find the golden ticket. Hint hint, there is no golden ticket, and that’s because the coding behind the aiming is crap.

“If the aiming was broken, there would be a huge outcry from pro players because they’d be held at the same disadvantage as others, and the skill gap would be close to nonexistent”
-No. First of all, the issue is most prevalent in those who play on TVs with bad input lag. Do pros fit into this criteria? No. Based on several different posters I discussed the issue with today (I can link the thread if you really want proof), having a monitor opposed to having a TV with bad input lag was like… and I quote “night and day.” Sure, there are people playing on bad TVs who don’t notice, and that’s great for them. But for those on bad TVs who do notice (like myself), the issue is glaring and it is absolutely astounding that 343 even attempted to -Yoink- with the aiming. Why fix what’s not broken right? I guess 343’s philosophy is “why not screw up what already works instead of working on content that should be in the game at launch…”
Second, the skill gap would not decrease by having crappy aiming. In H4, aiming was super easy, thus, there wasn’t as much of a skill gap compared to other Halos. In a game with crappy aiming, it’s harder to perfect, thus a greater skill gap. So yes, in having crappy aiming there is a greater skill gap in H5. That being said, it is not as it should be. The skill gap that exists at the moment is separated based first on who is using what TV, second who has the best aim. THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE!

Whether it’s broken or not, the aiming in the beta and in past games was better. The aim in this game feels very jittery, even after I’ve poured a significant amount of time into it.

I am speaking in the present tense, I’m aware that it was a problem in the past & has now been rectified. Yet still we see the same complaints

How do you know it’s been rectified? People made the same threads like this before it was fixed. How do you know there are no more problems? I certainly still have problems, and look at my stats before you call me a noob.

And so your contribution is to call the people who seem to have problems as babies when, for all we know, it could be a new bug that has cropped up, input lag from certain TVs or any number of conclusions? There are better ways you could have gone about this and you did it in the exact wrong way. I’d suggest you edit your thread title and maybe offer your criticisms in a more constructive manner rather than be rude.

That would be because while the new mechanic is operating “as intended” it’s a broken system that is inconsistent
the “two turn” style aiming mechanic will always cause problems because the precision aim is too slow and the turn aim is too fast no matter what changes you make, you can smooth it out a little, but it will always cause problems

He said “for all we know there may be lingering problems.” I hate to break it to ya but the issues have not been rectumfied, the real issue lies in the coding of the game. Something about the aiming in H5 is clearly different from past Halos and it makes it a much clunkier experience, especially for those playing on not-so-great TVs.

This. The aiming was fine in the beta, they had no reason to change it.

A game with crappy aiming, by definition makes aiming inconsistent. No one would be able to establish consistently good aim. Everyone’s shots would be awful. There is no “mastering” a game with broken aiming; a game with aiming that is able to be perfected is not a game with bad aiming.

I could actually believe that I played on this newer TV that allows internet connection basically Smart TV w.e but for some stupid reason w.e I play on it the movement feels so off like I’m lagging or just took a dose of some meds that slowed me down but the sensitivity is higher and I’m forcing how I aim for some reason. Then I switch to the other TV and I feel like I’m fine like I’m actually aiming the way I’m supposed to.

I’m not afraid to call a spade a spade. A crybaby is someone who looks to deflect blame onto a 3rd party rather than attempt to make adjustments themselves. And there are some who have, but there are many who haven’t… Either way, crybaby is far from an offensive term. If this thread offends people, they must be new to the internet

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but I believe this has to do with the refresh rate of the tv

Well idk what else to say. Maybe it’s a TV issue like other people are saying. I haven’t had issues in a long while.
