Message for y'all that came to complain.

No. Returning to classic gameplay doesn’t mean making a carbon copy of halo 3. It doesn’t mean slowing the player down to a crawl like in Bungie games. It doesn’t mean making Spartans feel like bouncy toys instead of super soldiers. If you want to play halo 3 again, the go play halo 3 again. But don’t complain that 343 aren’t releasing a reskin of an old game.

The game looks genuinely amazing. The movement looks swift and fun. The weapons look powerful and like they belong in halo. The abilities look like a fun way to shake up the battlefield. The vehicles look fun as hell to drive. Heck even the graphics look gorgeous. The fact that you haven’t accepted that times change, and games can’t stay the same for 20 years straight is your fault, not 343i’s. If you want to play the same game that released back in the 2000’s then do it, but don’t force others to do so. Learn to enjoy stuff and try new things.

I think the game looks great and I’m super excited to play it.

That being said, stop trying to belittle other people’s opinions just cause they don’t align with yours. People are allowed to value different styles of gameplay and voice their perspective.

Everything from graphics to gameplay looked incredible. I think Halo will finally be able to compete again for most played game.

I’m just sick of halo fans complaining about the same things over and over and asking for things that will never happen. They don’t want a new halo game, they just want a carbon copy of halo 2 or 3 to be released, and it’s annoying at this point. I just had to say it.

And the fact that it’s f2p will allow people to dip their toes into halo again without spending any money. I truly believe this will be another peak for halo.

You really didn’t. You can just accept that some people have different opinions on what halo gameplay should be and that there’s nothing wrong with that.

Well you know they say; people will always find things to complain, or they’ll complain cause they want to. Let them be. I wouldn’t even waste a minute on those people when I can go do something else, like getting ready to enjoy this game. See you on the battlefield my fellow Spartan!

There’s a difference between saying “man, I wish halo would bring back some of the classic gameplay. They could probably release a game mode that mimics halo 3 in infinites multiplayer” and spamming everywhere “nah man halo died back in 2010. Y’all are just fortnite kids and halo will never come back to its glory because 343 sucks” along with some sexist comments about Bonnie Ross.

Its belittle because those with different opinions treat it like with absolute fact. Like if its the only way it should be. If you haven’t noticed, a lot of forums just recently the hour are actually about how different it is and how “bad” it is. Only because it doesn’t look like a Halo 3 montage. Opinions as they are, they should treat it as such. And not over-exempt what they trying to say.

Yeah, a message like that would annoy me too. But that’s definitely not what they’re all like and I think you know that. I’ve seen plenty of people post their reasoning for wanting more classic gameplay without being whiny, sexist, or just all around bad people. There’s lots of people who like classic gameplay and present it in a well thought out, respectful manner.

I’d love a new halo game I can like without it being this “carbon copy” of the older ones as well as all the ability gimmicks halos had in it since reach👍

all I saw was stuff every other shooter has and that just isn’t unique or impressive to me

I know, but my message wasn’t meant for them, so sorry if I didn’t make that clear. It was meant for the people I mentioned. The ones that have no goal of improving the game or adding anything of value to the conversation and only want to annoy people and -Yoink- on 343.

You can make the same exact argument about opinions being treated as fact for people saying it looks amazing

Yes, they only say they look amazing though. They never add on the fact “This looks amazing unlike past Halo, cheers to 343i and here is a gold star”

Others like to add on more context. But they add on random insults to their opinion. “Halo was so much better than now, 343i should be shutdown for their disgrace and-” whatever. Like let it be an opinion and don’t try to create a follow up to problems.

Tbh I don’t see a triple a shooter with this level of polish that uses abilities and vehicles in the same sandbox-y way halo does. No other triple a shooter boasts a level of customization like halo does. I don’t see a triple a shooter with the same system of weapon types that plays along with shield’s and normal life. No other triple a shooter boasts a map editor and custom games system as good as halo’s. Should I go on? The fact that halo Infinite has advanced movement mechanics that other shooters also use because they’re fun doesn’t mean it’s not original. Is halo unoriginal because every shooter aside from doom eternal has reload animations? No. Halo manages to separate itself from other games and tbh it does so really well

i honestly just hope that spint and a few other things stays out of competetive , as for casual they can do all the stuff they like , i am just worried that they force down mechanics wich the game map etc needs to be balanced around. i am not complaining i will see how it turns out and then do my judgment. But in defense of classic fans not evrything needs to evolve games like counterstrike barely evolved and are just fine. i could totaly imagine something very simmilar to halo 3 work today for large crowds , remember that halo was succesful when evryone around it was already “evolved” or “modern” . that makes me think , imagine they would try out a "classic mode. playlist etc " just to look how it would get along i remember that in H5 the short time it was there it was quite popular .

Like I said, I’m happy with what they showed and looking forward to it. Just seems like you guys can’t handle other people having different points of view other than your own. Yeah those trolls exist and they stuck, but plenty of others have valid concerns based off their own opinions.

Competitive will shift to what the people want, if anything there will probably be a “no sprint” mode or something akin to that. But yeah, I think giving players the option to choose how they play is the best choice here.

And while a Halo 3 like game could work, it probably wouldn’t. It would sell with the adult and young adult folk who play it for nostalgia, but it wouldn’t sell for new generations, which is one of the major markets. And tbh, after so many years, halo 3 feels a little janky and not something I want to play a lot. I’m not saying it’s bad, but simply it doesn’t feel as polished or good. I think they made the right choice with the gameplay type.

Frankly, I can deal with sprint. I’m a hardcore classic dude, but like a good Halo fan, I tempered my expectations to ever even see a classic Halo lol.

All of the abilities were pickups, the grappleshot was a pickup on the map, we knew this and saw it in the reveal. Base abilities are sprint, slide, and clamber. That’s it. I can deal with that. I’m excited for this game. It’s not my ideal Halo, but I’m still gonna play the everloving -Yoink- out of it

only complaints i got are were the shortness of all the revealed stuff, was over way too soon.
