It’s painful that there isn’t a mercy rule implemented in this game. I mean I don’t want to leave to get a ban hammer but I don’t want to get killed by 4 different people and get tea bagged by them (only the top person did it which is stupid). It literally sucks that I can’t leave a game without getting a loss and a potential ban hammer but I don’t want to get stuck in a game where I’m the only one left and I still will end up with a loss and multiple deaths. I mean, I don’t want a mercy rule with 3 people but it’s like 2 people or even 1 (like my situation) then end the game so most people like us (who stays in the game without leaving) doesn’t have to get their game destroyed because of unfair odds. It’s just cruel.
P.S. If the guy who was playing on the other team and was tea bagging me. How do you feel when you -Yoink!- a single guy who stays behind and gets killed by other people. You must feel real good about yourself. I wonder how well you will play against the same odds.

Sucks about the 1v4 thing, unfortunately 343 hadn’t addressed this even though it was suggested throughout the last 2 months.
As for the -Yoink!-, unlike real sports, video games don’t force their players to have sportsmanship, in fact it encourages teabagging ala community humor. If it makes you feel any better, he’d probably quit against the same odds.
Just wouldn’t work in a game like this in my opinion. I’ve seen some pretty wild comebacks in Halo anyway.
Just because there is one person, doesn’t mean you will lose.
Here is a 1v7
Granted he is really good at Halo, but I remember a Team snipers game I was in on Halo 3, where it was 4v2 and we won. Some players might actually do better with allies who aren’t detrimental to the team.
Mercy rules don’t have a place in this competitive style 343 is forcing on us
Warzone mercy rules would hurt those going for commendations from high level REQ weapons
Arena mercy rule would hurt everyone’s stats and playstyles

I don’t mind a -Yoink!- if it’s like an awesome kill or something like puts you against all odds but 4 on 1 guy and you get -Yoink!- just because he’s still in the game. That’s just pathetic and sad that the only way to justify his -Yoink!- is by getting 4 people against one person. It would be awesome to -Yoink!- a person if it was like the other way around where you managed to kill 4 people with one person. Now that is a -Yoink!- worthy kill. But my mentality is that I don’t start tea bagging unless that person starts it.

Gamemodes such as SWAT with the one hit kills benefit from less teammates. But if the enemy team sticks together and it’s a gamemode with shields such as slayer, it’s impossible to win. You die way too quickly from team shot to get kills, and the enemy team always gets the power weapons. Even in Warzone, the other horribly lopsided team gets reqs way faster.

The game type he is playing in that video is regular slayer, with shields. But for the average player I can see your point.

yeah, the difference is that He’s good. I’m not. I can barely stand on my own against 2 people if I’m lucky.
Well that’s the issue then. You can’t have a rule in a competitive game that bars players from even trying when the odds are against them. People don’t get a handicap because they are bad at the game, you have to compete in the same way as everyone else. It would also lead to good players getting upset that they were forced to take a loss, when they could have won, just because some people didn’t want to finish a five minute game.

What I’m trying to say is just because people are bad at a game doesn’t mean they have to suffer for it. I know it’s a competitive match but it should have at least a mercy rule where when the game is like 30 points ahead on the enemy team with only one person left on the opposite team. I mean they are going to suffer for it anyways so why do they have to suffer getting repeatly killed over and over again. I have yet to see a match with a decent player (or even a bad one) win against a group of full team.
Plus, if it was in that situation, wouldn’t it make sense to have that type of rule since either way they are going to lose regardless of their efforts. I’m also pretty sure that even if the player is good wouldn’t they still get pissed off when they are faced against those type of odds.
If you are bad at the game, you are going to do poorly no matter the situation, so that is a poor excuse. If one team is 30 points ahead, the game is basically over anyway. The Esports culture in Halo 5 is not meant to cater to the bad or casual player. You can’t just tell someone they suck so much that you can’t even finish the match. You’ll get kills, maybe some progress on a commendation. You’ll get something from sticking around. Why does everyone want to be a quitter. Just because something isn’t going to go your way doesn’t mean you should quit, especially if it is something you enjoy.
Some players don’t care about how the odds are stacked against them, they know they can win, or at least try to do well. There is no reason to end a match early. Stick it out, and play, it is five minutes of your life, you’ll be ok. This rule would cause way more harm than good.
