There have been a lot of posts about farming recently in Warzone, because despite the stats quoted by 343, it is still a problem. I just finished a match in Warzone where my team wasn’t even able to capture our Armoury - we were pushed back to our base within two minutes of the match starting. The match continued until the 16 minute mark and ended with the enemy score at 1000 and our own at 317.
343 needs to show a clearer response to these issues; so far they have acknowledged it, but trivialised it with figures I don’t know if I can believe. It seems that it happens almost a third of the time. In my last 20 Warzone matches, there were 6 incidences where one team had double or more their opponents score.
Two ways to fix this that I’ve heard have been to either add teleporters within each base, or to implement some form of mercy rule. Raid on Apex 7 is possibly the best Warzone map because people don’t tend to get farmed on it, due to the back entrance which allows a farmed team to escape and capture an Armoury. Since the other Warzone maps don’t have this back-door for whatever reason, teleporters could serves the same purpose. Destiny, for all its faults did have a decent idea with the Mercy Rule, which would stop a team from farming for too long by prematurely ending a match.
The only way to stop the farming now is to quit the game, and this shouldn’t be the only way. I don’t care if farming is allowed by the game, and I know 343 should be partly blamed for not foreseeing the possibility. Its good sportsmanship not to farm, which is something I know a large part of this community still believes in.
