This has been happening to me for a while now. ill finish a game of warzone and ill go to the other side of the room to do something and after like a minute or 2 the game makes this coughing sound effect. and if i continue to not press any buttons it gradually gets louder. ive experimented with this a few times by not touching my controller after finishing a warzone game and leaving the lobby for a minute or 2 and it happens almost every time. i know its not my xbox because the fan doesn’t make much noise and when i listen to it it sounds nothing like coughing. and my one friend said hes encountered the same situation. does this happen to anyone else or am i just going crazy?

Then there are two possibilities at this point:
- Someone is coughing into their mic while in game chat - You are hearing the grunts of a Spartan when they get shot (less frequent)

maybe its a spartan grunting but it sounds a bit deeper

I got that once and that was when the game ended at the same time I was getting pumped full of lead. So it’s the game not registering the fact that the game is over and continually get pumped full of lead.
What happens -I think- is that the game keeps going long after it has ended and your player is still getting shot at by the AI. I don’t remember the map (the mining operation in the middle of the ocean) but you can hear an emergency announcer

It would be Escape from Arc.
But this sound effect doesnt get louder if you wait and you can also hear iz in the WZ menu screen.

I think it is just the last seconds of your character getting shot, and a glitch.

Except my character is female and I think it sound more like a marine.

exactly! I’ve also experienced that with a deeper voice(similar to an elite)
I’ve heard that if that happens to someone, their account gets hacked
Same thing happened to me just yesterday coughing sound through headphones in menu after game play.

That’s complete bull****.
It’s the sound Spartans make when they get shot. It happens sometimes. The same thing happens with grunts, too.

OMG I’m not crazy. To me it sounds like Elites coughing lol.
Can confirm, this happened to me a few days ago and I was having to think if my friend was back from doing something or not, but he was still afk/c
